What’s New for SAP Integrated Product Development
Welcome to the July 2026 blog! This update introduces powerful enhancements designed to accelerate innovation, strengthen collaboration, and improve efficiency across the product lifecycle. With expanded engineering capabilities and deeper integration with SAP and partner solutions, it further enhances how teams work together—from concept through manufacturing and beyond.
Change Management
Design Item Version Objects Available Across Change Management Apps
The Design Item Version object is now integrated with multiple Change Management apps.
- In the Manage Problem Reports app, you can add them as reference items to problem reports.
- In the Manage Change Processes app, you can add them as change request items.
- In the Configure Change Process Types app, you can add them as objects to change process types.

AI-Powered Translation for Change Management Apps
The Manage Problem Reports, Manage Change Processes, Configure Change Process Types, and Configure Change Validities apps now support AI-powered translation in the Translation section of their respective apps. You can generate translations for problem report descriptions, change process descriptions, change process type descriptions, and change validity descriptions in multiple languages, reducing manual translation effort.

Enhanced Change Log Capabilities
The Change Logs tab has been enhanced to provide a more comprehensive audit trail of activities performed in Manage Problem Reports and Manage Change Processes.
With this enhancement, users can track the activities in the Change Management apps.
In the Manage Change Processes app, users can now track the following:
- Creating, updating, and deleting key information such as header details, change validities, change requests, and change implementations
- Adding or removing problem reports
- Adding or removing collaborations
- Adding comments

Collaboration
Review Team Members Without Leaving the Collaboration
Within the My Collaborations app, from the Participants section of a collaboration, you can navigate to Teams in a new browser tab. This opens the corresponding team in the Manage Teams app, where you can review team members and corresponding details, while keeping the collaboration open. This makes it easier to verify team members without interrupting your work.

Common Functions
Configure object links for test plan versions
Business administrators can now use the Configure Object Links app to define and manage link types for connecting different test plan versions to specification versions. This enables flexible and reusable relationship definitions between business objects in SAP Integrated Product Development, supporting efficient and scalable business processes.

Enable permission inheritance for subfolders
Administrators can now configure folder permissions to be automatically inherited by newly created subfolders in the Manage Authorization Contexts app. When the Inherit Authorization option is enabled for a parent folder, user permissions are automatically applied to child folders. This ensures consistent access control and improving administrative efficiency by reducing the need to manually maintain permissions for each subfolder and simplify authorization management across hierarchical folder structures.

Document Management
Document Info Record Authorization in DMS
Authorization Context support for Document Info Record (DIR) as a Business Object, enabling granular permission management for individual documents within the Document Management System.
Use this feature to enforce document-level access controls and actions through centralized Authorization Context configurations, ensuring consistent security policies across your DMS environment.
Enterprise Product Structure
Public API publication on SAP Business Accelerator Hub
Public APIs for Enterprise Product Structure are now available on SAP Business Accelerator Hub.

Link documents to structure headers and components
Associate relevant documentation directly with BOM headers and individual components on the Structure Editor and Product Structures screens. This enhancement improves traceability and access to supporting information.

Formulation
Support for cross-dimensional UoMs for scaling quantities
You can now scale formula item quantities using units of measure (UoMs) from different dimensions.
- When you scale quantities based on a formula item with a UoM in the proportion dimension, the Target UoM field lists only UoMs from the proportion dimension.
- When you scale quantities based on a formula item with a UoM from a non-proportion dimension, the Target UoM field lists only UoMs from the applicable non-proportion dimensions.

Support for cross-dimensional UoMs in Formulation Calculations
The Formulation API now supports creating and updating recipes using UoMs from different dimensions.
- In addition, you can now assign specifications and products to output streams using the API.
These enhancements extend API functionality and support more efficient management of recipe data through integrations.
