Generative AI Hub in SAP AI Core is integrated in Amazon Dreat. Companies can thus gain knowledge based on generative AI and tighten manual processes.
Seattle and Walldorf – Amazon Web Services (AWS), a company of Amazon.com, and SAP have announced an extended, strategic cooperation today. The aim is to optimize modern cloud-erp solutions and help companies to use new opportunities with the help of generative artificial intelligence and to increase efficiency.
Together, AWS and SAP want to support the solution Rise with SAP To introduce AWS, improve the performance and efficiency of SAP workloads in the cloud and to embed generative AI in the entire portfolio of business-critical applications from a company.
“AWS was the first cloud provider to be certified for the SAP portfolio. Today, thousands of companies use SAP solutions to AWS to achieve a maximum for their business-critical applications,” said Matt Garman, new CEO from AWS. “Thanks to AWS and SAP, companies can now use even faster and easier generative AI for their central business data to react faster and become more efficient and sustainable.”

Generative ACI models from Amazon Dampf
The generative AI Hub in the SAP AI Core infrastructure ensures secure access to a wide range of large voice models that can easily be integrated into SAP business applications. With the generative AI models from Amazon Fedrock such as Anthropic Calude 2 or Amazon Titan, SAP customers can fall back on powerful LARGE LAGUAGE models and other foundation model in order to create applications on this basis that have been individually adjusted with their own data. Tens of thousands of customers use Amazon Fedrock to use a combination of models leading AI21, Anthropic, Cohere, Meta, Mistral Ai and Amazon to develop and scale applications for generative AI conveniently, quickly and safely.
With this integration, SAP customers have the option of accelerating the use of generative AI and modernizing important business processes based on SAP solutions. These innovations can be used to embed them in Rise with SAP and in the function for life cycle management for intelligent scenarios as an integration component or parallel directly on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). SAP and AWS plan to expand the use of the threat functions in the generative AI hub in order to be able to embed AI functionality in the SAP portfolio of cloud solutions and applications even more. This includes additional applications in the areas of finance and product life cycle management.
SAP wants to use AWS chips for training and implementing future SAP Business AI offers
SAP uses AWS-Graviton3 chips for SAP HANA Cloud to achieve high performance and energy efficiency at lower costs. By using the Graviton3-based instances of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), SAP was able to improve the processing of analysis data by 30 percent and the CO2-Fußprint from SAP HANA Cloud reduce by an estimated 45 percent. SAP and AWS are now working together at the next generation of Graviton4 for SAP HANA Cloud and other SAP applications to further increase performance and efficiency. Due to the successful use of SAP HANA Cloud on AWS Graviton, SAP, AWS Graviton intends to use for SAP solutions and applications such as SAP BTP, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Cloud Alm.
SAP plans that developed AWS chips specially developed for AI and machine learning (ML) AWS Train and AWS Inferentia for training and implementing future SAP Business AI. With instances based on trainium and Inferentia2, SAP developers carried out the training and fin tuning of large voice models for generative AI within two days. This would have taken 23 days with comparable Amazon EC2 instances. By using the coaching architecture specially developed for efficient training of ML models, SAP can accelerate the development process and continue to ensure a high degree of accuracy and reliability.
Higher performance for Rise with SAP on AWS
Thousands of customers have chosen Rise with SAP on AWS to carry out their largest and most complex global implementations of SAP solutions. Already generally available, the state-of-the-art amazon EC2 High Memory U7i, which offer up to 32 TB memory in an instance, will give gifts the required storage space and the necessary flexibility in order to support the growing requirements for the SAP-HANA database. Amazon EC2 High Memory U7i is the first 8-socket offer of a leading cloud provider based on a GDR work memory. It ensures better performance of memory -intensive applications such as the Suite SAP S/4HANA Cloud as part of Rise with SAP.
Amazon relies on Rise with SAP for project Kuiper
To handle your business processes, Amazon companies such as Twitch, Zappos.com and ZOOX Inc. SAP software use AWS. As part of Project Kuiper to improve broadband access through a satellite network, Amazon is now relating to Rise with SAP in order to carry out complex processes within the supply chain and in production, to achieve optimal results and to draw the greatest possible benefit from its business-critical SAP software. By using SAP solutions on AWS, Amazon for Kuiper can use the latest SAP functions that are integrated in Rise with SAP. In this way, the company can effectively advance the transformation, make quick decisions and improve performance and productivity as a whole. Hundreds of million people have no reliable access to the Internet. With his project, Amazon therefore pursues the goal of closing the digital gap and providing quick, affordable broadband internet for a large number of customers who work in places without a reliable internet connection. In order to realize this vision, satellites must be built quickly as part of Kuiper. With RISE with SAP, the Kuiper team can use a highly reliable and scalable infrastructure to use modern, cloud-based ERP software as managed service and thus focus on innovations instead of IT management.
