MADRID – SAP It announced today that CAF, a worldwide leading manufacturer of rail vehicles, has successfully completed its migration to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition.
This milestone marks the first step as part of the digital transformation from CAF to sustainable and efficient manufacturing processes.
CAF, based in Beasain in Spanish, switched its highly adapted on-premise landscape to a standardized landscape in the cloud. In this way, the company was able to seamlessly integrate SAP solutions into central business processes, including master data and personnel management, record-to-report and source-to-play processes, sales and transport as well as warehouse production (including manufacturing processes).
“CAF is now equipped for the future because our new technology landscape enables us to better meet the requirements in a complex and rapidly changing market,” said Guillermo Apellániz, Digital Transformation Director at CAF. “In addition, we are now able to use other technologies or functions such as artificial intelligence with a focus on efficient processes.”
CAF continues its digital transformation and now wants to improve data integration using the solutions SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP BDC) and SAP Datasphere. The aim is to enable faster analyzes so that CAF can make even more efficient data -based decisions. CAF will also use SAP-DATABRICKS functions in SAP BDC to manage data from its various product lines for buses and trains. This opens up new opportunities for the integration of business and product data- and harbors the potential to draw the greatest possible benefit from artificial intelligence.
“SAP solutions enable CAF to concentrate on sustainability by producing high-speed trains, local transport trains, subways and buses that are less emission or emission-free,” reports José Vallés, Managing Director of SAP Spain. “The complexity of the CAF projects and the high requirements in supply chains require robust and flexible solutions-and the SAP is proud to be able to offer them.”
