Pandora relies on a cloud solution for growth

The jewelry producer Pandora puts on Rise with SAP for its digital transformation. SAP S/4HANA Cloud will form the core of the new ERP system.

Pandora, a headquarters in Copenhagen, designs, produces and sells high -quality jewelry made of recycled silver and gold at affordable prices. The company, which employs 37,000 employees and generated sales of 31.7 billion Danish crowns (4.2 billion euros) last year, was founded in 1982 as a small family business in Copenhagen. 42 years later, Pandora is the world’s largest jewelry producer and sells its goods in more than 100 countries through retail stores and the Internet.

“Pandora is a brand that is all about love. It is about giving people who are closest to us – but also to celebrate what we have achieved,” explains Mariane Heidingsfelder, Senior Vice President for Business Transformation at Pandora.

As a retailer with several sales channels and ambitious growth plans, Pandora’s digital strategy is designed to optimize the consumer experience. “This has a top priority with us,” emphasizes Heidingsfelder. Pandora wants Rise with SAP to use as a cornerstone for future growth and thus promote its digital transformation.

Cloud solution becomes the core of the new ERP system

SAP S/4HANA Cloud will form the core of Pandora’s new ERP system, with which the company’s business processes can be standardized, managed more easily and better networked.

“I am firmly convinced that business and technology always go hand in hand,” explains Heidingsfelder. “While we are driving growth, we actually digitize all areas of our company – from manufacturing to our offices and teams to our branches and the very individual way how our customers interact with us.”

Pandora also wants to simplify the processes for his employees. Efficient and digitized processes in combination with user -friendly dashboards are just a few of the concepts that will enable employees to spend more time with customers, take on more innovative tasks or to solve complex problems. “We use various technologies in the branches,” explains Heidingsfelder. “We would definitely like to simplify the processes in branches. That is why we try to offer employees in our shops a contact point that you can use to access all the information you need to be able to exchange ideas with customers.”

Use of the integrated AI functions

In addition, she addresses the creation of a digital foundation: “We also want to ensure that our employees in the branches spend more time with customers and less time in the back office.” Pandora is already investigating how the AI functions integrated in SAP S/4HANA can use.

“We consciously decided to start, learn, and then use potential for efficiency where we can support our colleagues’ way of working,” reports Heidingsfelder.

“From there, our possibilities are limitless in my opinion. We are an extremely ambitious company and want to make sure that we use the best available technologies to boost our business and accelerate our growth.”
