SAP and AI innovations for more efficiency

Orlando, May 20, 2025 -At its annual SAP Sapphire customer conference, SAP has announced innovations and partnerships that fundamentally change the work processes and ensure that every company KI can benefit.

With innovations such as the AI assistant Joule and an extended network of joules agents who work across systems and business areas, SAP heralds a new era that enables AI for every company and productivity increases of up to 30 percent.

“SAP combines the world’s most powerful suite of business applications with extensive data and the latest AI innovations that offer high added value for customers in interaction,” said Christian Klein, CEO of SAP SE. “With the expansion of joules, our partnerships with leading AI pioneers and the further development of SAP Business Data Cloud, we draw out the potential of AI for companies. At the same time, we are driving digital transformation so that customers in an increasingly unpredictable world remain successful.”

Newly presented innovations and partnerships revolutionize the way of working

Productivity thrust by AI

Joule, the SAP assistant with a generative AI, can be used in all processes and provides personalized answers that enable increasing productivity.

Joule is now comprehensively integrated and can accompany users in their entire daily work inside and outside of SAP applications to find data, to open up new insights in real time and to optimize workflows. This also includes a campaign bar that uses Walke and analyzes the behavior of users across applications. Joule becomes a constantly available, proactive AI assistant who already recognizes the requirements of the users in advance-and always the strict SAP guidelines for ethical AI fulfilled.

Cooperation with Perplexity-a company that provides a AI-based search engine-improves the ability of joules, structured and unstructured data to solve complex business problems. Based on Perplexity and the Knowledge Graph from SAP, Joule now answers questions with structured, visual answers such as diagrams and key figures based on real-time data in SAP workflows. For example, a user could ask the tool how global fundamental decisions could affect business activities. He would then receive a forecast based on current events and on the company’s business data.

SAP has also presented an extended collection of joules agents who redesign business processes and workflows from scratch. These AI agents use the highest quality real-time data worldwide and are linked by joules. They work across systems and business areas recognizing changing requirements, adapting and acting as far as possible as users allow it so that companies can remain flexible in a rapidly changing world. In cooperation with industry leaders, SAP offers a network of interoperable agents that can handle consistent processes. The new agents include the customer experience, supply chain management, expenditure management, finance and personnel management.

Finally, SAP has presented an operating system for AI development to open up new opportunities to develop, implement and scale new opportunities. AI Foundation brings together new and existing tools and offers developers a central start to create, expand and execute customer-specific AI solutions. This makes it the first real operating system for corporate AI. A new promptly optimizer, which was developed together with the Ki startup not Diamond, also helps developers to create more effective AI prompts faster, which reduces working on complex use cases from days to minutes.

Data that ensures more intelligent decisions

SAP has also presented new intelligent applications for SAP Business Data Cloud, each tailored for a special business area. These applications are able to learn continuously, to simulate results and to provide orientation help for measures using business -critical data. You recognize changes to optimize processes, require requirements and work with users and AI systems. For example, the use of People Intelligence can be optimized by team performance by gaining knowledge of the workforce from employee and qualification data and deriving AI-supported recommendations.

In addition, Palantir and SAP enter into a partnership to support common customers in switching to the cloud and in modernization programs. Due to the seamless connection between Palantir and SAP Business Data Cloud, customers can establish a harmonized database in their entire corporate landscape. Together, companies will help customers such as US authorities to quickly adapt to changes and disorders.

Applications that ensure faster use of cloud solutions

The company has also announced packages for the SAP Business Suite, which customers should simplify the introduction of SAP cloud solutions for their special business requirements. SAP Build is integrated in these packages so that companies can adapt applications to their individual requirements.

Finally, SAP has presented a new solution that supports customers to switch to the cloud faster. She uses Joule as an introduction and insights from SAP solutions such as SAP Signavio and SAP Leanix and offers personalized help and concrete recommendations that are tailored to the transformation goals of a company and enable up to 35 percent faster added value.
