SAP and Snowflake: New partnership for enterprise AI

New Partnership Gives Enterprises Access to Deep Data Insights AI Applications Need to Accelerate Business Results


Bozeman, Montana, USA, and Walldorf – November 4, 2025 – Snowflake, the AI ​​data cloud company, and SAP, the global leader in enterprise applications and enterprise AI, today announced a new collaboration. This allows companies to seamlessly use Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud and SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) with semantically rich data.

The collaboration makes Snowflake’s data and AI platform available to SAP BDC customers as an extension of an SAP solution. With the new offering, SAP Snowflake, companies can seamlessly leverage Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud and SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) with semantically rich data. SAP and Snowflake also enable data sharing between SAP BDC and Snowflake without the need to copy that data. This makes it easier for customers to gain deeper insights, build intelligent enterprise-level applications, and leverage AI-powered innovations that drive their transformation.

Linking critical business data

“By closely integrating SAP and Snowflake, we make it easier for companies to connect critical business data and its rich context in SAP with the power of seamless AI app and data agent development at scale in Snowflake,” said Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product, Snowflake. “With Snowflake and SAP BDC, companies can now innovate faster and share data seamlessly between platforms – without copying and with complete control,” continued Kleinerman.

SAP Snowflake integrates Snowflake into the open data environment of SAP BDC and Business Data Fabric, giving customers greater openness and choice. At the same time, SAP BDC is enhanced with Snowflake’s AI, analytics, data engineering and marketplace capabilities and collaboration capabilities. Customers can use SAP BDC with SAP Snowflake as a cloud-based compute and storage option to increase the value of their data. Bidirectional zero-copy data access and AI enable data and AI teams to work with semantically rich SAP data products in real time and in accordance with a unified governance framework. This enables customers to harmonize SAP and other data, optimize total cost of ownership across all workloads, and build agents and AI applications in SAP Snowflake that rely on trusted SAP data products.

Openness and freedom of choice

SAP Snowflake offers customers the following:

  • Building a reliable, AI-enabled database to harmonize SAP and third-party data: Customers can unify their data landscape with an integrated business data fabric. This enables more seamless zero-copy sharing, enriched modeling and a complete, ready-to-use view of your data in real time for all data engineering, analytics, AI and machine learning workflows across the enterprise.
  • Accelerating the business value of AI through semantically rich data: Simplified AI governance enables customers to underpin AI with enterprise-specific knowledge and develop tailored agents to deliver safer, more contextual and intelligent applications across the enterprise.
  • Develop intelligent applications based on business-critical data: With a harmonized and democratized data foundation built on semantically rich, trusted data products, customers can develop, deploy and optimize intelligent applications faster, accelerating the pace of innovation and production.

Easier data usage across solutions

In addition to SAP Snowflake, the partnership also includes SAP Business Data Cloud Connect for Snowflake, a feature that enables bi-directional data sharing without copying with Snowflake. Companies that already use Snowflake can use SAP BDC Connect to integrate their existing instances of Snowflake with SAP Business Data Cloud. This gives them seamless, real-time, zero-copy access to semantically rich SAP data products that requires no duplicates.

SAP and Snowflake are supporting thousands of customers, including industry leaders like AstraZeneca, by transforming their industries through this partnership.

SAP Snowflake is expected to be generally available in the first quarter of 2026. General availability of SAP BDC Connect for Snowflake is planned for the first half of 2026.
