Innovations and partnerships such as a new collaboration with Snowflake help developers create real added value from business data and AI

Berlin, November 4, 2025 – At SAP TechEd this year, SAP is integrating artificial intelligence into the development process to provide greater support to developers. New AI-powered features in the SAP Build solution, a growing data ecosystem and powerful Joule agents enable developers to implement ideas even faster and make enterprise software even more effective. As AI transforms the world of work, SAP has set a goal of equipping 12 million people worldwide with AI skills by 2030.

“What SAP is announcing today will provide developers with a tool to deliver business software at the speed of AI,” said Muhammad Alam, Member of the Board of Directors of SAP SE. “Innovations in SAP’s unique combination of applications, data and AI empower developers in their work, turn them into agents of change and make them successful.”

More access options for the developer community

SAP Build, SAP’s core solution for developing and automating enterprise applications, now offers developers more freedom so they can more easily use their favorite development, extension and automation tools.

For example, developers who like to work with agent-based development solutions such as Cursor, Claude Code, Cline or Windsurf can now use SAP development environments with new local Model Context Protocol servers from SAP Build. Visual Studio Code users will be able to access SAP Build functionality directly in their development environment through a new extension for SAP Build. This extension will also later be made available in the Open VSX Registry for other development environments. SAP and n8n also announced plans to integrate so that Joule Studio agents and n8n agents can work together.

And with new agent development capabilities in Joule Studio, developers have the tools they need to extend SAP’s out-of-the-box agents and create new agents that understand the SAP business context and can autonomously adapt to changing business conditions.

Use of data

The starting point for every intelligent application is trustworthy data. SAP offers developers more ways to use this data with SAP Business Data Cloud.

The solution now connects to more data and AI platforms that developers use every day. With the new solution extension SAP Snowflake for SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP customers can directly access Snowflake’s fully prepared data and AI functions. This gives you the flexibility to choose the right compute and storage resources for each data and AI workload, while maintaining governance, interoperability and business context. SAP also announced a new partnership with Snowflake for SAP Business Data Cloud Connect. This complements existing integrations with Databricks and Google Cloud and offers developers more choice when working with SAP data.

The new Data Product Studio feature in SAP Business Data Cloud allows developers to transform raw data into ready-to-use resources called data products that support analytics, AI, and application development.

An advanced feature in the SAP HANA Cloud Knowledge Graph Engine can automatically generate knowledge graphs. This feature maps relationships between SAP database tables, columns, and data models, showing how data fits together and why it is important. Developers can see how their data is connected across systems and gain valuable insights.

Benefit from autonomous AI

SAP continues to evolve its AI portfolio to provide developers with the intelligence and connectivity they need to implement AI insights.

SAP introduced its first Relational Foundation Model for enterprise data, a new class of AI that makes business predictions rather than just predicting the next word in a sentence. SAP-RPT-1, the first generation Relational Pre-trained Transformer, can create fast and accurate forecasts for common business scenarios such as delivery delays, payment risks or customer order completion. SAP today introduced a free demo environment for developers.

New AI assistants in Joule coordinate different agents across workflows, departments and applications. In this way, the advantages of automation and autonomy come into their own. These assistants plan, initiate, and complete complex tasks in finance, supply chain, human resources, and beyond. Today SAP is introducing new agents designed for technical users. For example, a business process analysis agent helps teams understand how processes work. He discovers inefficient processes and identifies opportunities to optimize workflows and achieve measurable improvements.

As AI transforms the world of work for everyone, SAP is committed to equipping 12 million people worldwide with AI-relevant skills by 2030. SAP will expand hands-on training and certification programs that integrate practical AI tools, including through a partnership with online learning platform Coursera.
