WALLDORF — The SAP SE today announced closer collaboration with French AI companies, including both new and deeper partnerships with Bleu, Capgemini and Mistral AI.
The aim of this collaboration is to combine SAP’s expertise in enterprise applications with France’s dynamic AI ecosystem. The aim is to develop secure, scalable and AI-supported cloud solutions that ensure the protection of data and intellectual property while driving Europe’s digital transformation. The announcement came at the European Digital Sovereignty Summit in Berlin, where France and Germany particularly emphasized promoting innovation and competitiveness in Europe.
“Europe’s competitiveness relies on being uncompromisingly innovative – and to achieve this, technological excellence must go hand in hand with true digital sovereignty,” says Christian Klein, CEO of SAP SE. “By collaborating with France’s outstanding AI ecosystem, SAP is helping to create a trusted digital foundation for Europe, encouraging open innovation, protecting data and ensuring that technology benefits people and progress.”

The aim is to ensure a quick and coordinated crisis response even in extreme cases such as military conflicts or cyber attacks.
The cooperation enables cross-border and early detection, analysis, defense and resolution of cyber incidents. Through close collaboration, Bleu and Delos Cloud strengthen Europe’s resilience and digital sovereignty. Together, they set new standards for trustworthy data management and operational reliability – both for crisis prevention and long-term stability.
In cooperation with SAP, state authorities and governments, Bleu and Delos Cloud are ready to make a decisive contribution to Europe’s digital sovereignty. Their common goal is to keep critical infrastructure safe, resilient and under European control. Further information can be found here.
Capgemini: Advancing Europe’s AI-driven digital and technological sovereignty
SAP and Capgemini are intensifying their strategic partnership to strengthen cybersecurity and accelerate the adoption of confident, AI-powered solutions for the digital transformation of companies across Europe. As part of the Franco-German industrial alliance, both companies sign a cooperation agreement and start a sovereign technology partnership.
This gives European organizations access to comprehensive enterprise data management, migration services, modern cloud infrastructure, automation platforms and advanced AI capabilities for various industries – including the public sector and regulated sectors. With this joint approach, SAP and Capgemini are setting new standards for trustworthy, compliant and resilient digital infrastructure, helping European organizations innovate securely and independently.
Mistral AI: Alliance for European Sovereign AI
SAP and Mistral AI today announced the expansion of their strategic partnership with the aim of accelerating digital transformation and sustainably strengthening Europe’s technological sovereignty in the field of artificial intelligence. Together they will provide organizations with the first fully sovereign AI stack for Europe:
- Merging Mistral AI and SAP products: SAP will provide Mistral AI’s Frontier AI, including Le Chat, through the sovereign AI Foundation on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). This joint offering combines the strengths of enterprise software and artificial intelligence and enables sovereign cloud solutions for Europe on specially designed AI data centers. Mistral AI Studio integrates with the AI Foundation and SAP solutions so customers and partners can develop and deploy sovereign cloud applications and AI agents securely, compliantly, and at scale in their own environments.
- Joint development of confident customer solutions: SAP and Mistral AI will design and develop industry-specific AI applications based on SAP’s technological leadership and Mistral AI’s AI expertise to solve complex engineering and research and development challenges and create additional business value.
This collaboration represents a crucial step towards enabling sovereign AI according to European standards. The AI Foundation within the SAP Business Technology Platform serves as an integration layer that makes SAP Business AI available on almost any infrastructure. Together with partners and supported by governments, Mistral AI and SAP are laying the foundation for scalable and compliant AI solutions in Europe – covering sovereign AI from hardware to platform and applications to the user interface.
An independent pillar for digital sovereignty will specifically support public services and regulated sectors in Europe, initially in Germany and in the future also in other sectors. By integrating Mistral’s AI capabilities into SAP’s European cloud infrastructure, the partnership enables secure and scalable AI implementations that are optimally tailored to local requirements.
A unified vision for Europe’s digital sovereignty
These partnerships form a key pillar of the comprehensive SAP Sovereign Cloud solutions, which aim to strengthen Europe’s digital sovereignty and realize the full potential of artificial intelligence. SAP is intensifying its investments in European sovereignty, using the SAP Cloud Infrastructure Service specifically in local data centers and providing over 20 billion euros for sovereign cloud and AI solutions. By combining reliable governance and strict compliance with the ability to maintain complete control over data and assets, SAP creates a robust digital foundation. This foundation is based on leading technologies from a European perspective and supports governments, public institutions and companies under European control.
