SAP: New AI-supported functions introduced

SAP NEWSBYTE March 17, 2026 — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) announces on the SAP Concur Fusion introduces new AI-supported functions and further developments in travel and expense management and announces new partnerships and the expansion of existing collaborations. The conference is the premier annual event for SAP Concur customers, partners and experts.

Use AI-powered solutions for expense reporting, travel expense management and invoicing

SAP adds new automation features to Joule in SAP Concur solutions:

  • A new integration between Joule and Microsoft 365 Copilot integrates travel and expense management tasks directly into common work tools. Employees can use it to create and submit travel expense reports, upload receipts, book travel, and receive travel policy alerts in SAP Concur solutions without leaving Microsoft applications. The solution is now available.
  • Two new Joule agents simplify travel expense compliance and reporting.
  • The Expense Automation Agent creates and fills travel expense reports automatically. Employees just have to check, adapt and submit them.
  • The Expense Pre-Submit Audit Agent checks receipts before employees submit their travel expense reports and immediately points out any discrepancies. This means that invoices are rejected less often and refunds are paid out more quickly.
  • Both agents are available through the SAP Early Adopter Care program. General availability is planned for later this year.
  • New AI-based policy creation tools simplify policy management in Complete by SAP Concur and Amex GBT, Concur Travel, and Concur Expense.
  • SAP Sales Cloud is now integrated with Booking Agent, optimizing sales team workflows and productivity.

SAP Concur and American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT). introduced new features for Complete. The jointly developed AI-supported solution combines the areas of bookings, services, payments and billing. The new features include AI-powered travel support that seamlessly handovers to a personal travel advisor when needed, as well as a dedicated homepage for travel managers. Additionally, Concur Expense now integrates with Amex GBT Egencia globally.

Common customers of SAP Concur and American Express Can now create and manage virtual American Express credit cards in Concur Expense. This gives companies more control over employee spending and increases security. The virtual cards can also be used in Concur Travel. The feature is now available to select U.S.-based American Express® corporate and business customers who use Concur Expense. Availability for all other US customers is planned for Q3 2026.

SAP Concur is also partnering with Visa through the Visa Commercial Integrated Partner Program to integrate Concur Expense and Visa. As a first step, real-time notifications for Visa card payments are automatically recorded as an expense in Concur Expense. This feature is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2026 through the SAP Early Adopter Care program. SAP Concur supports real-time notifications from all major credit card companies.

SAP Concur is also upping the ante in business travel management: expanded booking options, broader global access and intelligent travel support. The new user experience in Concur Travel supports guest bookings, expanded Cleartrip content in India, and additional airline options. TripIt Pro also adds Apple Intelligence and advanced risk alerts to Image to Plan to help travelers better organize their itineraries and stay on top of disruptions.
