SAP NEWSBYTE – 02/26/2026– SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) and FC Bayern are intensifying their long-standing technology partnership: The record champions have completely transferred their central IT landscape to the cloud with RISE with SAP as the strategic foundation for the club’s digital future.
By switching to SAP Cloud ERP Private, FC Bayern is modernizing the heart of its system landscape and thus complementing its already broad portfolio of SAP cloud solutions such as SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Concur, SAP Emarsys, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Sports One and SAP Event Ticketing.
RISE with SAP enables continuous innovation, real-time analytics and AI-supported business processes in the new environment. The new cloud environment accelerates financial processes, merchandising becomes more efficient and partner management is managed smarter and more transparently. Over 9.5 million fan and member records as well as more than 25,000 product master data are now centrally located in SAP Cloud ERP for the first time, providing a robust basis for personalized fan services, scalable trading and mechandising processes and operational excellence.
Cloud handles peak loads on game days
By moving to the cloud, FC Bayern is securing needs-based scalability for high utilization on match days, uniform security standards, simplified IT operating processes and a clearly plannable cost model.
“FC Bayern shows how organizations can use the SAP Business Suite of cloud solutions to drive innovation and growth,” says Thomas Saueressig, member of the Executive Board of SAP SE and responsible for Customer Services & Delivery. “With RISE with SAP, the club now benefits from continuous updates, integrated analytics and AI capabilities that improve the fan experience and strengthen operational agility.”
SAP Cloud ERP Private offers the latest innovations as well as integration with SAP BTP services. The solution is operated in certified data centers with disaster recovery, centralized security updates and monitoring, thus meeting the latest security and compliance standards. At the same time, the European Union's requirements for compliant data storage are met and the international standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are adhered to.
The move from the self-hosted model was only completed after strict audits, governance and security measures enabled FC Bayern to meet its high operational and data protection requirements.
FC Bavaria is positioning itself at the forefront of digital innovation
“Our partnership with SAP ensures that FC Bayern remains a digital leader. The cloud enables us to scale fan interaction worldwide, evaluate player performance data more intelligently and manage our commercial activities more efficiently across all global locations,” says Jan-Christian Dreesen, CEO FC Bayern München AG.
With the new clean core architecture, FC Bayern is also creating the basis for the next generation of digital innovations, including the Joule and SAP Green Ledger solutions and other AI-supported functions that sustainably develop HR, finance, trading and analysis processes.
