Last week, from March 24–25, the SAP EHS & Product Compliance community met in person in Amsterdam at the SAP EHS & Product Compliance Conference hosted by TAC Insights. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the networking within the community was incredibly lively!
For many, the event began already on Monday evening with partner and customer dinners, as well as preparations for the conference and the partner exhibition hall.
On Tuesday morning, with 220 attendees, the main conference room was packed for our opening keynote. SAP’s Gunther Rothermel shared more about the new generation of agentic processes for operational sustainability—also highlighted in his LinkedIn post.
The agenda continued in this manner, featuring experts who covered EHS and Product Compliance capabilities and innovations, including insights from experienced customers, partners, and SAP specialists.
Across both days, we heard real-world implementation stories, with customers sharing their S/4HANA transformation journeys within the dedicated EHS and Product Compliance tracks. Particularly fascinating were the side-by-side and hybrid approaches customers are adopting to kick-start their transformations instead of waiting for a “perfect moment.” Another strong theme that came through was the added value our partners bring to customer projects by filling gaps and extending what’s possible with our solutions.
As expected, AI was a major recurring topic—not just in terms of future potential, but with concrete demos from SAP and partners. Attendees got a glimpse of how AI can support their everyday work. This theme also shaped a panel discussion on how AI will influence future EHS and Product Compliance processes.
Another highlight was the Discovery Hub. Attendees had the chance to get hands-on experience with the solutions, following trial tours through dangerous goods and compliance document management processes in the Product Compliance room, as well as AI-assisted compliance management and AI-powered Safety Instruction Generation for Risk Assessment in the EHS room. Our SAP experts were kept very busy supporting visitors and discussing scenarios in depth.
Whether during breaks in the exhibition hall at partner or SAP booths, at the evening BBQ, or in the interactive sessions throughout the days—there was always something happening. Peers had countless opportunities to exchange ideas on topics affecting their day-to-day work. Despite the professional focus, the atmosphere remained friendly, honest and open. I’m already looking forward to seeing everyone again!
