1. Upload of Accrual Objects with a Total Amount and an Accrual Method (ACACTREE01/02)

Purpose: To upload accrual objects with a specified total amount and an accrual method that defines how the total amount should be distributed over different periods. Template can be downloaded via ACACTREE01/ACACTREE02 –> download template–> ‘Create or update accrual objects with the total amount.

Template Contents:

o Accrual Object Category

o Company code

o Total accrual/deferral amount in transaction currency

o Accrual Method 

o Start of life and end of life

o Accrual item type

o Ledger group

o Transaction currency

· How It Works: The system uses the total amount and the specified accrual method to automatically calculate and distribute the amounts over the relevant periods.

2. Upload of Pre-calculated Accrual Amounts with Creation of Accrual Objects

 Purpose: To upload pre-calculated accrual amounts for specific periods. If the accrual object does not already exist, it will be created automatically.

· Template Contents:

o Company Code

o Accrual Object Category

o Last Day of Period

o Start of Life

o End of Life

o Accrual Item Type

o Ledger Group

o Periodic Accrual Amount in transaction Currency

o Transaction Currency

How It Works:

o If the accrual object does not exist, the system will create it.

o If the accrual object exists, the system will update it by adding the uploaded amounts to the existing amounts.

3. Upload of Pre-calculated Accrual Amounts for Some Periods

· Purpose: To upload pre-calculated accrual amounts for specific periods of already existing accrual objects.

· Template Contents:

o Company Code

o Accrual Object Category

o Accrual Object Number

o Last Day of Period

o Accrual Item Type

o Ledger Group

o Periodic Accr. Amount in Transac. Crcy

o Transaction Currency

· How It Works:

o The system updates the existing accrual object with the uploaded amounts for the specified periods.

o The accrual amounts are assumed to have been calculated outside the system and are directly uploaded to the accrual engine for posting.

Summary

· Template 1: Total amount with accrual distribution method.

· Template 2: Pre-calculated amounts for all periods, with object creation if necessary.

· Template 3: Pre-calculated amounts for specific periods of existing accrual objects.

Using these templates effectively allows you to manage accruals flexibly, whether you need to define the distribution method, upload pre-calculated amounts, or update existing accrual objects with specific period amounts.
