Integration of several products is always a challenging task, data accuracy and consistency are paramount. With this April 30th release, we are taking a significant step forward in strengthening that.

It is all about the process models. We now offer a mechanism to verify their uniqueness across the products which are integrated, like SAP Signavio, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager and others. Process models are created in SAP Signavio, then are sent to and reside in other systems as well. For example, you can model a process in SAP Signavio and send it to SAP Cloud ALM and to SAP Solution Manager or any other system. Then the same process model can be sent from SAP Solution Manager or any other application to SAP Cloud ALM.

If an SAP Signavio process model exists in SAP Cloud ALM, when syncing it to SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Signavio will update it in SAP Cloud ALM. If SAP Signavio process model does not exist in SAP Cloud ALM, when syncing it to SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Signavio will create it in SAP Cloud ALM.

We preserve the uniqueness of process models across products by introducing external reference, which is provided by every product and verified each time when there are attempts from SAP Signavio to create or update a process model in SAP Cloud ALM. SAP Cloud ALM stores the external reference of every process model like a single point of truth for cross-product reference.

As a user you don’t have to do anything: the additional cross-product uniqueness verification is there for you.
