What’s New for SAP Integrated Product Development

Welcome to the April 2026 blog! This update introduces powerful enhancements designed to accelerate innovation, strengthen collaboration, and improve efficiency across the product lifecycle. With expanded engineering capabilities and deeper integration with SAP and partner solutions, it further enhances how teams work together—from concept through manufacturing and beyond.

Change Management

Status Change Event Integration for Recipe Objects

When a Recipe is linked to a Problem Report or Change Process, any status update is automatically reflected across all connected records — ensuring real-time visibility, improved collaboration, and zero manual follow-up.

Managing Reference Items of Problem Reports in the Manage Change Processes App

Within the Manage Change Processes app, the dedicated Problem Reports tab enables users to efficiently manage and monitor associated reference items in one place.

🔹Users with the ProblemReport_Editor or ChangeProcess_Editor roles can:

  • Link existing reference items directly from the Problem Reports tab
  • Add associations using the Add Reference Item action
  • Remove linked reference items while in edit mode

🔹Users with the ProblemReport_Viewer or ChangeProcess_Viewer roles can:

  • View all associated reference items connected to the Problem Report

Managing Change Processes in Problem Reports

In the Manage Problem Reports app, you can use the Change Process tab to manage and view linked change processes.

Integration of Change Management Apps with SAP Personal Data Manager

The change management apps are now integrated with SAP Personal Data Manager to support compliance with SAP data protection standards and regulatory requirements, including GDPR.

Processor Assignment in Change Processes and Problem Reports

A new enhancement in the Manage Change Processes app brings greater clarity and accountability in change execution.

You can now assign a Processor to a Change Process — both at the header level and within the Change Request section.

The Processor plays a key role in driving execution by:

  • Managing statuses across change processes
  • Tracking change requests effectively
  • Overseeing the implementation of business object changes

Displays personal information of the user.

Enterprise Product Structure

 Object links available for products

You can view, create, and delete object links between products through a dedicated tab in the Product Explorer app. It displays the type of relationship between the linked products improving cross-object relationship management and traceability.

Component properties for managing products

You can access user-defined custom properties for specific instances of a product in the Product Explorer and Product Structures apps. Use the new Component Properties tab to view various attributes for the component property. The available component properties depend on the product category that the component belongs to.

Administrators define component properties and their attributes in the Properties app within Specification Management. When creating a new product, select Product Structure Components in the Used For field. You must select this value to enable component properties for the product.
