In integrating SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition systems, Communication Management plays a critical role in securely exchanging data. This blog explains how to configure communication between two SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition systems using standard SAP communication scenarios. The blog is co-written with @Karunaharan

  • Access to the source/sender SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system.
  • User must have the role, ADMINISTRATOR.
  • Target SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system details, such as Host Name, Logical System, and Business System.

For inbound communication, your registered system calls the services provided by SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. For outbound communication, your registered system provides the services called by SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

More Properties in the Outbound SOAP Service

Replication Modes

Initial Replication: Replicates all existing data from the source to the target system.

Change Replication: Only the changes made in the source system will be replicated to the target system.

Output Modes

Direct: Replication happens immediately after saving the changes made to the Business Partner object..

Pooled: Replication occurs periodically. In this case, only the Business Partner objects are replicated without unchanged relationships.

System Filter

System Filter controls the data transferred between systems. It allows only certain data to be copied or synchronized based on specific conditions.

For example:

  • Transfer only certain types of data (like sales orders or customer data).
  • Limit the data based on specific attributes (like a region or department).

Data Controller and Purpose

Defines the responsibility and purpose of data usage to ensure compliance with data protection regulations. The combination of data controller and purpose must be the same in both source and target systems.

Integration with C4C Enabled

Enables integration-specific services required for SAP C4C integration.

SOAP Compatibility Mode

Ensures compatibility with SOAP-based services and avoids message processing errors.

Following these steps ensures a secure and reliable integration between two SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition systems using standard communication scenarios.
