Managing complex business requirements often requires flexibility in how fields behave across different scenarios. Today, we're excited to announce that Dynamic Properties are now supported for custom entities created via custom service settings. Dynamic Properties allow administrators to define field behavior (like mandatory, visibility, readonly) rules that adapt based on business conditions.
For Standard Entities – Dynamic Properties are available in Extensibility Administration
For Custom Services – It is supported at root entity level and Dynamic Properties configuration is accessible during New entity creation or editing existing entities.
When you create or edit a root entity with custom services, you'll get a new Dynamic Property tab for root entity.
Example scenario:
Your organization uses a custom Work Order service. You need to ensure that whenever a work order is set to Active status, providing a Start Date becomes mandatory. This ensures critical scheduling information is never missed for active work orders.
To configure this as an admin user- Navigate to custom entity (custom services) and Access the Dynamic Property Tab
Click on + (new) Field Attributes.
