As organizations prepare to migrate SAP Commerce Cloud environments from JDK17 to JDK21, two recurring deployment patterns have been observed during migrations. The first is deployment failure during the Data Migration phase due to stricter validation introduced in JDK21. The second is a deployment that appears to remain in Data Migration for several hours while additional legacy OAuth cleanup is performed. Understanding these behavioural changes before migration helps reduce troubleshooting time and avoid unnecessary deployment interruptions.
