SAP Commerce Cloud Q2 2026 Release Highlights

The Q2 2026 release of SAP Commerce Cloud continues our commitment to delivering intelligent, composable, and scalable commerce experiences. This release introduces meaningful enhancements across storefront architecture, integrations, payments, and user experience, enabling organizations to simplify operations while accelerating time to value.

At the same time, unveiled a forward-looking set of AI-driven innovations and ecosystem partnerships that define the future direction of SAP Commerce Cloud at this year’s Sapphire. These capabilities are planned to be available later this year and provide a clear vision of how commerce will evolve toward more connected, intelligent, and autonomous experiences.

Together, the delivered innovations and upcoming capabilities demonstrate SAP’s continued investment in helping businesses innovate faster, adapt to change, and deliver exceptional customer journeys at scale.

AI-Driven Innovation and Ecosystem Expansion (SAPPHIRE Announcements)

SAP unveiled a new wave of AI-driven innovations and strategic partnerships at SAPPHIRE, offering a strong outlook on the future of SAP Commerce Cloud. These announcements outline SAP’s vision of seamlessly connecting discovery, conversion, and fulfillment through intelligent, AI-powered commerce experiences.

Highlights include AI Assistants for Commerce and expanded collaborations with Google and Vercel. These innovations are designed to embed intelligence across workflows, enable highly personalized customer interactions, and provide modern frontend flexibility. While not part of this release, they represent a significant step forward toward AI-first and ecosystem-driven commerce.

Decoupled Storefront Hosting Service

SAP Commerce Cloud introduces a new decoupled Storefront Hosting Service that separates frontend and backend builds, enabling faster deployment cycles and improved scalability. By isolating storefront delivery from core commerce operations, organizations gain greater flexibility in how they manage and evolve their digital experiences.

With capabilities such as server-side rendering, built-in caching, optional CDN integration, and significantly faster build times, merchants can deliver consistently high-performance storefronts. This results in improved customer experiences while reducing development bottlenecks and accelerating innovation cycles.

Composable AI Integration with MCP

Model Context Protocol (MCP) introduces a standardized approach for connecting AI agents and conversational interfaces with live commerce systems. This enables real-time interaction between AI tools and core commerce data, allowing assistants to provide accurate and up-to-date responses.

With MCP, conversational AI assistants can go beyond static responses by directly accessing live product catalogs, pricing, promotions, and inventory data, as well as executing transactional operations such as cart management and checkout. This transforms AI interactions into fully operational commerce experiences, unlocking new engagement

Service Provider Interfaces and Resilience

Service Provider Interfaces (SPI) extend SAP Commerce Cloud’s composability by enabling external services to plug into core commerce processes such as pricing, delivery, and tax calculation. This allows organizations to adopt best-in-class solutions without disrupting existing systems.

Combined with built-in resilience capabilities such as retries, circuit breakers, and timeout controls, SPI ensures stability in distributed architectures. Businesses benefit from both flexibility and reliability, allowing them to scale and innovate confidently in complex system landscapes.

OMS Flow Connector

The OMS Flow Connector simplifies integration across distributed order management environments by enabling seamless data flow between SAP Order Management Services, SAP solutions, and third-party systems. This eliminates the need for complex custom integrations and accelerates connectivity across the enterprise.

Business users can configure workflows and orchestrate integrations with minimal IT involvement, empowering teams to quickly adapt to changing business needs. This leads to faster process innovation, improved agility, and more efficient order orchestration across channels and fulfillment networks.

Open Payment Framework Enhancements

Enhancements to the Open Payment Framework introduce advanced split payment capabilities to support modern commerce use cases. Merchants can combine multiple payment methods within a single transaction, including gift cards and digital payments, while also supporting marketplace scenarios with multiple sellers.

These capabilities simplify complex payment orchestration and reduce friction at checkout. By enabling more flexible payment experiences, businesses can increase conversion rates while supporting evolving business models such as marketplaces and omnichannel commerce.

Wishlist Enhancements

Wishlist functionality has been improved to provide a more seamless customer experience across anonymous and authenticated journeys. Wishlists created before login can now be automatically merged with a user’s account, ensuring continuity of product interest and intent.

This enhancement reduces friction in the shopping journey and allows customers to effortlessly continue their experience across sessions and devices. As a result, businesses benefit from stronger engagement, better personalization opportunities, and improved conversion outcomes.

The Q2 2026 release reinforces SAP Commerce Cloud as a future-ready platform that combines performance, composability, and innovation. By delivering both immediate value and a strong vision for the future, SAP continues to help organizations build resilient, scalable, and differentiated commerce experiences.
