SAP Digital Manufacturing (DM) release 2608 and Production Connector release 3.2 complete a comprehensive improvement of subscriptions configured in the Manage Automatic Triggers application and for asynchronous service executions such as automation sequences or OPC UA method calls. The improvement replaces the previous shared-queue model with one dedicated queue per subscription and per asynchronous service execution, giving users precise control over retry behavior, message queue item persistence, lifetime, and queue overflow handling. This post explains what message queues are and why they matter in shop floor integration scenarios, details the new configuration options with screenshots for both Production Connector 3.2 or higher and older releases, describes how existing configurations are automatically migrated on upgrade, covers the revised queue management view in the Production Connector Control Center and the new Queue Health feature in the cloud UI, and outlines the constraints that remain in this release.
