The Warehouse Management team is excited to launch a new app for the inbound process in your warehouse: Manage Inbound Deliveries – Warehouse. It brings together all the features of the predecessor apps, Change Inbound Deliveries – Deliveries and Change Inbound Deliveries – Production, along with powerful new features that simplify your warehouse processes and improve efficiency. Best of all, it offers key user extensibility and developer extensibility, so you can customize the app to suit your warehouse needs.
If you are using the predecessor apps, you should know they will be deprecated soon. We’ve designed the successor app with you in mind from start to finish. Let’s look at what’s new and different in the Manage Inbound Deliveries – Warehouse app and give you many reasons to switch to it immediately!
Features
You are accustomed to doing things in a certain way in the predecessor apps. Here are some new and improved ways of doing them in the new app.
Create Inbound Deliveries
You can create inbound deliveries directly in Warehouse Management and manage the entire inbound process seamlessly without switching applications.
Advanced Filtering
You can filter inbound deliveries using the Adapt Filters dialog based on several criteria. For example, you can filter by status, such as putaway status or goods receipt status, or by product or batch.
“Related Apps” Dropdown List
To make navigation easier, we’ve brought other related apps together in one place on the items screen. From the inbound app, you can navigate to the Create Warehouse Tasks app, the Process Warehouse Tasks app, and the Work Center Packing for Inbound Delivery app.
Packing and Handling Units
Sometimes a quick glance at the packing status is all you need, so we've added the Packing Status column to the overview screen via the Settings button.
If the inbound delivery has handling units assigned, you’ll find several related features and actions on the items screen. There, you can see the highest-level handling units used in the inbound delivery. You can also choose the Create Handling Unit button to create handling units and specify the quantities to be packed in a single dialog. Alternatively, if you’ve defined packing instructions, you can choose the Pack Automatically button to have the system pack the whole inbound delivery into handling units.
To do more with handling units, use the handy Related Apps dropdown list to navigate to the Work Center Packing for Inbound Delivery app.
Batches and Batch Subitems
If you work with batch-managed products, you can see the relationship between an item and its subitems directly on the items screen. For example, in the screenshot, item 20 belongs to a batch-managed product. You ordered three pieces of that product and received one piece from batch 0000000226 and two pieces from batch 0000000177. You see the subitems 30 and 40 grouped below the item. In the Higher-Level Batch Item field, you see which item the subitems belong to.
Putaway Warehouse Tasks
After goods receipt, you can create putaway warehouse tasks in the following ways:
- On the overview screen – the system creates putaway warehouse tasks for one or more deliveries based on the putaway strategy.
- On the items screen – the system creates putaway warehouse tasks for that delivery or for the items based on the putaway strategy.
- On the items screen – you create putaway warehouse tasks manually for that delivery or for several items at once. When you choose manual creation, you'll navigate to the Create Warehouse Tasks app where you can set, for example, the quantity, batch, warehouse process type, and destination storage bin.

To confirm, cancel, or process the putaway warehouse tasks, navigate to the Process Warehouse Tasks app, either via the Process Relevant Warehouse Tasks field, or the Open Putaway Warehouse Tasks field.
Track Progress of Putaway Activities
You can easily track the progress of your putaway activities using the Planned Putaway Status and Putaway Status fields. They give you real-time insights into how your putaway planning and warehouse tasks are advancing.
Both fields are available on the following screens:
- Overview screen – where you can monitor the progress of all inbound deliveries at a glance
- Items screen – where you can drill down into the progress of a specific delivery item
Changing Delivery Data
We’ve added the Edit button to several places to make it easier to change inbound deliveries. On the overview screen, you can edit one or more inbound deliveries at once, for example, to assign the same carrier to all of them.
On the items screen, you can add new inbound delivery items, create batches and batch subitems, and set values (such as quantity) for multiple items at once.
If you have a product with serial number requirements, you can enter, change, or delete serial numbers as well. You can do this either via the link in the Serial Numbers column, which opens a dialog, or on the Serial Numbers tab on the item’s details page.
Key User Extensibility and Developer Extensibility
The new app offers both key user extensibility and developer extensibility. With key user extensibility, you can, for example, hide or rename fields and actions, or reorder sections, create custom fields and edit them in the app. With developer extensibility, you can, for example, add sections or actions to the UI.
Now that we’ve given you a quick look at some of the features and actions that work differently in the new Manage Inbound Deliveries – Warehouse app, we invite you to explore it. We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
