One of the most common questions from SAP Sales Cloud V2, SAP Service Cloud V2, and Enterprise Service Management (ESM) customers is:
“How can I report on custom business data that is not available in the standard analytics data sources?”
Historically, Embedded SAP Analytics Cloud (eSAC) in SAP Sales & Service Cloud V2 relied primarily on standard business data sources such as Opportunities, Accounts, Contacts, Activities, Cases, and Leads. While these cover many reporting scenarios, organizations often extend SAP's standard processes using Custom Services and Custom Business Objects to support unique business requirements.
Business Scenario
Consider an ESM implementation where a customer manages:
- Appoval Logs
- Forms Table
- Invoices & Payments Data
- Asset Inspection Records
- Vendor Performance Reviews
- Customer Health Scores
- Service Subscription Metrics
- Installation Audits
These entities do not exist as standard analytics data sources.
The business wants:
- Trend analysis
- Operational dashboards
- Executive KPIs
- Drill-down reporting
- SAC stories using custom metrics
Using Custom Service Entities, this data can now be pushed into eSAC and consumed similarly to standard analytical data sources
Step 1 : Create a Custom Service using CAP Model
refer the blog : Using CAP = Custom Services for SAP Sales & Service Cloud v2 + ESM
Step 2 : Enable Analytics Relevance in CAP Metadata JSON
This is the most important step.
While creating or updating the custom service entity:
Also, enable the toggle button in both entities or required entities that needs to be pushed into Analytical table
Click on Replicate Analytics Data to sync
Step 3 : Create an eSAC Model

→ Query Designer
Key Limitations
Before designing large-scale solutions, be aware of current restrictions:
Restricted Availability
Analytics support for custom service entities is currently delivered as a restricted release. Customers interested in using the feature must request via ticket through component CEC-CRM-ANA
Data Volume Limits
SAP currently enforces:
Business Benefits
Organizations can now:
- Report on custom business processes
- Bring non-standard business entities into eSAC
- Create executive dashboards without external data warehouses
- Combine custom and standard SAP data
- Accelerate analytics delivery with minimal development effort
- Extend SAP Sales Cloud V2, Service Cloud V2, and ESM analytics beyond standard tables
Conclusion
Embedded SAP Analytics Cloud (eSAC) in SAP Sales & Service Cloud V2 and Enterprise Service Management is no longer limited to standard business objects. By leveraging Analytics-Relevant Custom Service Entities, customers can expose their own application data, automatically generate analytics data sources, and build rich SAC stories and dashboards on top of custom business processes.
For organizations implementing ESM-specific processes, industry extensions, or partner-built applications, Custom Services provide a scalable and SAP-supported approach to bringing non-standard data into Embedded Analytics, unlocking deeper operational insights without requiring a separate analytics platform.
