A sales price list is a structured record of the prices you offer to customers for products or services. It helps keep sales transactions consistent, accurate, and transparent — and can include net prices, discounts, surcharges, taxes, and other pricing elements.

This post walks you through how to use the Schedule Price Calculation – Sales Price List app to automatically generate a price list based on selected customers and products.

How-To Steps

  1. Open the Schedule Price Calculation – Sales Price List app. It's available in the Sales – Price Scheduling business catalog.
  2. Create an application job to run the price calculation. The default job template is Schedule Price Calculation. To create your own template, click the Template button in the lower-right corner.
  3. Define your scheduling options. You can schedule a one-time run or a recurring job. Keep in mind that minute-level or hour-level intervals aren't supported — price calculation is resource-intensive and needs a wider time window.

  4. Set the job parameters. See the Parameter Details section below for guidance on each field.Picture2.Png
  5. Once the job is scheduled, view the results in the initial work list. Use Preview to check the price list output. You can also download the results as a PDF or TXT file. Tip: To open the TXT file in Excel, right-click it, select Open with, and choose Excel.Picture1.Png
  6. Click Log to review success messages or errors. Note that you can only view logs for jobs that you created.Picture1.Png

Parameter Details

Save Result to Condition Table

If you want to persist the calculated prices in condition tables, use the value help to select a mapping profile. These profiles are configured in the configuration activity Define Mapping of Calculation Result to Condition Table.

SAP delivers three default mapping profiles. You can use them as-is or create your own:

  • SAP_4DA_CUSTOMER: For customer-specific pricing. Select customers that have individual prices.
  • SAP_4DB_PRICE_GROU: For customer price group–based pricing. Select customers from different customer price groups, for example, assign customer A to pricing group C1 and customer B to pricing group C2. Avoid selecting multiple customers that belong to the same customer price group.
  • SAP_4DC_GENERIC: For generic pricing without customer-specific adjustments, such as a one-time customer. Select only one customer.

If you want to generate a price list without saving the results, leave this field blank.

Pricing Date

  • For a one-time job, specify a static date. For example, Today or a date such as 2026/08/06.
  • For a recurring job, use a dynamic date. For example, Start Date, which resolves to the actual date the job runs.

Product and Product Price Group

At least one of these fields is required. If you enter both, make sure the selected products are correctly assigned to the specified product price group.

If you enter a product price group without specifying individual products, the system includes all products in the selected sales area that belong to that price group in the calculation.

Filter Profile

If you want to skip certain condition types during price calculation (for example, short-term promotional discounts, freight charges, or internal prices), define filter profiles in the configuration activity Define Filter Profiles for Pricing Procedures. Each profile specifies which steps in the pricing procedure are skipped. In addition to meeting business requirements, this can also improve performance.

Apply Pricing Scales

Select this checkbox if scaled prices or discounts exist for the selected products and customers, and you want the system to determine all scale levels and include them in the results. If you leave it deselected, the system uses a quantity of 1.

Minimum Order Quantity

Select this checkbox to have the system apply the minimum order quantity defined in the product master data. If no minimum order quantity is defined, the system defaults to a quantity of 1.

Customers per Batch

Use this parameter to split large jobs into smaller parallel batches and improve performance.

Consider setting a value here when the combination of customers and products exceeds 100,000 records. For example: if you select 1,000 sold-to parties and 100 products (100,000 combinations) and set this parameter to 500, the system creates two parallel sub-jobs, each processing 500 sold-to parties against 100 products (50,000 combinations each).

Relevant Configurations

Define Mapping of Calculation Result to Condition Table (107321)

This activity controls how calculation results from the Schedule Price Calculation – Sales Price List app are saved to condition tables. You use condition mapping profiles to specify which condition tables store each type of result.

SAP delivers pre-configured mapping profiles you can use directly or copy as a starting point:

  • Condition table 4DA: Stores prices that are unique per customer and product (customer-specific).
  • Condition table 4DB: Stores prices shared within customer price groups (customer-price-group-specific).
  • Condition table 4DC: Stores generic prices without customer-dependent adjustments.

Define Filter Profile for Pricing Procedures (107309)

In this activity, you define filter profiles that specify which pricing procedure steps to skip during price list generation, for example, short-term discounts or freight charges.

Define Customer-Specific Sources for Pricing (107330)

SAP delivers pre-configured data sources for many standard fields. For details, refer to SAP KBA 3756920.

If additional standard fields or custom fields are relevant for pricing determination, use this activity to assign them to the pricing communication structure.
