In 2nd Blog I will provide update on (2608 Cloud ERP) key enhancements in Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain, Transportation and Warehousing.

Chemical Industry manufacturers in continuous or discontinuous mode with precise process and quality control. Following key enhancements in Cloud ERP Manufacturing capabilities aid in transparent operations with increased efficiency in manufacturing execution and control:

• Change Documents for Production Order and Process Order
  • You can now display which changes were made to your production orders or process orders by whom to understand the changes and effectively analyze
  • These Changes can include like change to start date, finish date in order header
  • To view the change documents for a production order or process order, select the Change Documents tab in the Production Order Object Page app or at Process Order Object Page app
• Production Planning and Operations Agent
  • Manage Production Orders app includes a Joule Release button which enables you to release your production orders assisted by agentic AI technology. This Agent assists production planners and supervisors in releasing up to 20 production orders at a time
  • The agent automates prerequisite checks for releasing production orders, including material, capacity availability and related scheduling issues.
  • It proposes workarounds like rescheduling, aternative components when the prerequisites for release are not met. Once all criteria (for order release) are met, the planner can confirm the proposed order changes and the agent completes the production order release
• In Manage Planned Orders app, planners can proactively check (“Check Component Availability”) for component shortages before converting planned orders.

Cloud ERP provides capabilities to execute Quality Planning, Inspection and Improvement (manage defects, complaints). Following enhancements (in Cloud ERP 2608 release) aid in furthering Quality Management capabilities:

• Change documents for quality management apps
  • You can view a list of changes in the Manage Usage Decisions and Record Results for Inspection Points apps in new Changes section which shows what was changed for each inspection lot, including old and new values, who made the change, and when.

Cloud ERP supports multiple sales scenarios (like Sale of physical goods, Solution orders) along with multiple billing scenarios (Sales billing, Solution billing, Down Payments) and executes these (lead to cash) processes in integration with SAP CX solutions (like SAP Sales Cloud).

Following enhancements (in Cloud ERP 2608 release) support chemical industry Lead to Cash requirements:

• Serial Number Support in Manage Customer Returns – Version 2 app
  • For a serial number-enabled product (like totes or industrial gases cylinders) users can assign serial numbers to return order items (directly within the app). This helps to track individual product units through the returns workflow.
• Intercompany Pro Forma Invoice for Advanced Intercompany Sales
  • As goods are sold / shipped across nations intercompany Pro Forma Invoice can aid in declaring cost and value of the exported goods to customs authorities. This improves compliance with export regulations and is tightly integrated with SAP Global Trade Services.
• Flexible plant determination in Customer Returns
  • For situations where products are shipped from one plant but require return to a different / specialized facility / plant based on like customer location or return reason, cloud BAdI SD_SLS_DETERMINE_RETURNS_PLANT enables custom logic to determine the plant for returns order items 
• Supply Blocks in Sales Documents
  • For Incomplete Sales orders (due to like credit block or delivery block) proceeding with logistics activities can result in like premature production, incorrect MRP planning.
  • Supply Block at order item level pauses ATP check, requirements transfer, and purchase requisition generation until the order data is validated and all applicable blocks are resolved
• Integration with SAP Commerce Cloud, Cloud ERP Edition (85O)  
  • SAP Commerce Cloud, cloud ERP edition integrates seamlessly with SAP Cloud ERP to provide a unified commerce experience across all channels
  • Powers the full commerce lifecycle from discovery and pricing to quoting, ordering, fulfilment, and post‑purchase engagement with native connectivity to SAP Cloud ERP

Cloud ERP monitors and execute compliant (DG Checks) inventory, warehousing and transportation operations. These Supply chain execution activities are enhanced with following capabilities (in 2608 Cloud ERP release):

• Seamless Integration of Advanced Intercompany Sales and Advanced Intercompany Stock Transfer with Transportation and Warehouse Management to enable seamless end-to-end logistics process
• Enablement of Sales Scheduling Agreements with Transportation Management and Warehouse Management (Details)
• Integration with SAP Logistics Management (83S)
  • Integrate Cloud ERP with SAP Logistics Management to handle warehousing and transportation activities (involving inbound processing, outbound processing, and inventory posting changes) in SAP Logistics Management and synchronize these (logistics) processes back to / with SAP Cloud ERP
