Faster Master Data Imports with Delta Loads
The Manage Master Data Imports app now supports delta loads in addition to full loads when importing master data from a connected SAP S/4HANA system, enabling faster and more efficient master data imports. Instead of importing the complete master data scope with every import, a delta load imports only newly created and changed master data objects since the previous full or delta load. This reduces the amount of data that needs to be processed and can significantly shorten the time required for the import.
Delta Load Option for Master Data Import from Connected SAP S/4HANA System
Delta loads are currently supported for account, account hierarchy, product, and project master data in both SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition. For cost center master data, delta loads are currently supported for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Other master data objects continue to be imported in full, even when the import is started as a delta load. The first master data import is always performed as a full load. A full load may also be required for subsequent imports, for example when changes are made to the relevant business system.
For more information, see SAP Help: Import Master Data.
API-Based Carbon Data Imports
SAP Green Ledger now provides three APIs for importing and processing carbon data from external sources. In addition to importing emission data from external sources via CSV files, the new APIs now provide a defined interface for integrating this data into SAP Green Ledger. The APIs support the different steps of the carbon data import process, from importing carbon data to releasing an import and monitoring its processing status.
The Carbon Data Import API allows you to import carbon data and create the data for the corresponding carbon collections. The Carbon Data Import Release API can then be used to release an import and trigger the creation of the corresponding carbon collections and journal entries. To monitor the process, the Carbon Data Import Status API provides information about the status of an import and the processing results of the corresponding carbon collections.
For more information, see the API Guide for SAP Green Ledger.
Enhanced Carbon Data Import Details
Once carbon data has been imported into SAP Green Ledger, it is important to understand how the data has been processed and what resulted from the import.
The Manage Carbon Data Imports app now provides more detailed information about your carbon data imports. You can review the imported data as well as the carbon collections and journal entries created from an import and navigate between them. This provides greater transparency into the results of a carbon data import and makes it easier to trace the imported data through to the resulting carbon collections and journal entries. The enhanced overview and navigation are available for new carbon data imports; existing imports remain unchanged.

Carbon Allocations from Energy Flows
Energy flow models in represent how energy and the associated emissions are distributed across different elements of an organization. SAP Green Ledger now brings this information into carbon accounting to reflect the corresponding carbon allocations between cost centers. To support this, the import of modeled energy flows from SAP Sustainability Footprint Management has been extended. In addition to carbon emissions for energy sources, emissions for other nodes in the energy flow, such as facilities, meters, resources, and process infrastructures, are now also imported.
Using the Manage Carbon Data Imports app, you can import and release energy flows from a connected SAP Sustainability Footprint Management system. The imported data includes the cost center assignments of the individual nodes, which are carried into the corresponding carbon collections. When these carbon collections are posted to the journal, SAP Green Ledger creates the corresponding cost center-to-cost center allocations based on the modeled energy flow. The resulting journal entries include the respective cost centers and partner cost centers.
The carbon collections and resulting journal entries can be reviewed in the Manage Carbon Collections and Manage Journal Entries apps.
For more information, see SAP Help: Import Energy Flows.
WBS Elements for Manual Journal Entries
Carbon adjustments and corrections can now also be assigned to specific WBS elements when journal entries are created manually. The Manage Journal Entries app now supports WBS elements and partner WBS elements for manual journal entries.
When creating a manual journal entry, you can now assign a WBS element to a line item for eligible accounts. Cost center and WBS element are mutually exclusive and cannot be maintained for the same line item. When a WBS element is selected, the corresponding profit center and segment are automatically derived.
The WBS element value help displays WBS elements based on the relevant project and profit center context. The system also checks whether the selected WBS element is available for posting and informs you if any posting restrictions apply.
For more information, see SAP Help: Create Journal Entries.
Enhanced Carbon Liability Management
With the EU CBAM definitive regime in effect since January 2026, imports of certain goods into the European Union can result in carbon liabilities that need to be recognized and valued. SAP Green Ledger supports this process by accounting for the embedded emissions and the resulting carbon liabilities and by determining their fair value based on the corresponding certificate requirements and Emissions Trading System (ETS) prices. In Q3 2026, new enhancements provide further support for the valuation and review of these liabilities.
Official EU ETS Prices
The Configure Carbon Certificate Data app now displays the official quarterly ETS prices published by the European Union. These prices are automatically imported into SAP Green Ledger and used for the fair value calculation of carbon liabilities associated with imports subject to EU CBAM. You can view the official quarterly prices together with your maintained ETS prices in the Emissions Trading System Prices tab.
Official EU ETS Prices Imported for Quarter 1 and 2
A color indicator shows whether ETS prices are available for the current year and quarter: green indicates that prices are maintained for all calendar weeks, while blue indicates that the automatically imported official quarterly EU ETS prices are used.
For more information, see SAP Help: View and Maintain Emissions Trading System Prices.
Product Information in Carbon Liabilities
The Manage Carbon Liabilities app now displays the Product selected for carbon collections that require carbon certificates, providing additional context when reviewing carbon liabilities.
For more information, see SAP Help: View Carbon Liabilities and Create a Carbon Collection.
More Flexible GHG Analysis in the Carbon Data Dashboard
The Carbon Data Dashboard has been enhanced with new options for analyzing GHG emissions.
The timing of GHG emission recognition can differ depending on whether emissions are considered when carbon data is posted or when the underlying resources are actually consumed. You can now choose between the accrual and non-accrual accounting method, which determines how GHG emissions are calculated and displayed in the dashboard.
With the non-accrual method, GHG emissions are recognized when carbon-relevant data is posted to the GHG Liabilities Collection account. The resulting GHG emissions therefore represent the emissions recorded at the time of the carbon data posting, regardless of subsequent activities related to the underlying resources.
With the accrual method, emissions are distinguished based on whether the underlying resources have already been consumed. Emissions related to consumed resources are recognized as realized GHG emissions in profit and loss accounts, while emissions related to resources that have not yet been consumed remain as accrued emissions in balance sheet accounts. As the resources are consumed, the corresponding emissions move from the balance sheet to profit and loss. This allows the dashboard to reflect GHG emissions in line with actual resource consumption.
Selection of Accrued and Non-Accrued GHG Emissions Overview
The Carbon Data Dashboard also introduces an enhancement to the WBS Element filter. The filter is now organized by project, with a project node at the top of the hierarchy grouping the corresponding WBS elements. This provides clearer context and makes it easier to locate and select WBS elements within their associated projects.

Enhanced Carbon and Financial Analysis in the Analytical Dashboard
The SAP Green Ledger Analytical Dashboard has also been updated for Q3 2026 with enhancements to filtering and data visualization. The updates make it easier to analyze carbon data in the context of projects and WBS elements and further improve the presentation and interpretation of GHG and financial data.

Further Updates and Enhancements
Several smaller enhancements further improve the usability of SAP Green Ledger.
Line Item Totals and Subtotals
The Line Items table in the Manage Journal Entries app now displays debit and credit totals and subtotals. When line items are grouped by an attribute, you can view the corresponding subtotals for each group, making it easier to analyze and review carbon-related postings.
Filtering by Empty Dimension Values
The Manage Journal Entries, Display Line Items, and Display Account Balances apps now allow you to filter for empty or unassigned values across supported dimensions, including, for example, WBS element, cost center, product, and supplier. You can display only postings where a particular dimension has not been assigned, or exclude these postings from the results. This makes it easier to review postings based on whether specific dimension information is available.
Journal Entry IDs Without Leading Zeros
Journal entry IDs are now displayed without leading zeros across SAP Green Ledger, making them easier to read, search, and sort. This applies wherever journal entry IDs are displayed.
