Mode-Based Interaction

A new mode switch further improves usability. Users can toggle between an Edit mode, where they adjust filter values and visibility, and a Sort mode, where they focus on arranging the order of filters. In the Sort mode, visual cues can be used for drag-and-drop interactions.

Easy Adding of Filters

Adding new filters is now a lot more transparent. The dialog now presents a dedicated section for adding filters, showing only those that are currently hidden and optional. This way, users won't be overwhelmed by long lists, and it helps them quickly identify which filters are available. The section is straightforward, with descriptive labels and input.

Smart Warnings and Guidance

The dialog also provides improved guidance when handling required filters or filters with values. Clear, contextual warnings appear when users attempt to hide a required filter, or when a hidden filter already contains a value. These messages help users understand the impact of their actions immediately. For example, if a required filter with a value is hidden, the user gets an information message that the field will not show in the filter bar.

Consistent and Intuitive Actions

Each filter entry now includes clearly identifiable actions, such as toggling visibility or removing a filter. These actions are consistently placed and use intuitive icons, so users can perform changes quickly. During the sorting of filters, a dedicated indicator appears to show that the filter can be repositioned.

Summary

Overall, the updated Adapt Filters dialog provides an accessible user interface, clearer workflows, and more informative messages. Users can find, adjust, and manage filters more easily, while the interface actively helps them avoid mistakes and maintain control over their filtering setup.
