SAP is launching a Customer Engagement Initiative (CEI) focused on the future of intelligent, automated returns management — and we are inviting customers and partners to help shape it from the start.

 

What is a CEI?

A Customer Engagement Initiative is SAP's way of bringing customers and partners directly into the development process, not after decisions are made, but while they are still being shaped. As a participant, you get a seat at the table: early access to concept ideas, prototypes and solution approaches, with the opportunity to give structured feedback that directly influences the SAP product roadmap.

 

What's This CEI About?

Returns management is one of the most process-intensive areas in Order-to-Cash. From initiating a return order through material inspection, refund determination, and final settlement, every step still relies heavily on manual judgment and repetitive coordination.

This initiative — Intelligent Returns: Process Discovery & Automation Roadmap — will explore exactly where that changes. Through “Day-In-The-Life” sessions with real practitioners, we will map how returns processes actually run today, surface the decisions and data gaps that slow teams down, and identify which tasks are most ready for AI-assisted resolution. We will also share early-stage UX concepts for automated flows and want your honest input on whether they solve real problems.

 

Your insights will go directly into the requirements for SAP's future intelligent returns capabilities.
