Prerequisites

  • You have the drccApiUrl endpoint from your service binding. The drccApiUrl is a concatenation of host name and path, in the form https:///. (See the Getting the URL for a Service Binding section for how to retrieve it.)
  • You have already configured the OAuth 2.0 client in your business system and noted the configuration (profile) name.

Part 1 — Creating the RFC Connection (SM59)

You create a standard or country/region-specific Remote Function Call (RFC) connection.

  1. In your business system, open the RFC Destinations (SM59) transaction.
  2. Choose Create.

  3. In the Create Destination pop-up, enter a name in the Destination field.
  4. For Connection Type, select G HTTP Connection to External Server and confirm.Rolandkoxherri_1-1782053724122.Png

  5. On the Technical Settings tab, fill in the fields as follows:Rolandkoxherri_0-1782053623288.Png

  6. Go to the Logon & Security tab.
  7. (Relevant only if you authenticated using OAuth 2.0 and you have SAP S/4HANA 2021 or higher, or SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition.) In the Logon Procedure section, choose OAuth Settings. In the pop-up, for the Profile field, use F4 help to select the configuration name you created when configuring the OAuth 2.0 client.Rolandkoxherri_2-1782053748641.Png

  8. In the Security Options section, set SSL to Active, then choose the PSE according to your authentication method:

    • Client Certificate: choose the SSL Client PSE you created to establish trust between the cloud edition and your business system.

    • OAuth 2.0: choose the SSL Client (Anonymous) PSE.Rolandkoxherri_5-1782053830475.Png

  10. (Optional) To test the connection, choose the Connection Test tab. The expected status depends on your setup:Rolandkoxherri_3-1782052254527.PngRolandkoxherri_6-1782053872661.Png

Part 2 — Activating the Standard RFC Connection (GCO_RFC_CONF)

Once the destination exists, you activate it.

  1. In your business system, open the RFC Activation (GCO_RFC_CONF) transaction.
  2. Choose New Entries.                                                                                                                                                                                                              Rolandkoxherri_7-1782054196571.Png
