In the age of AI, the skills we build today will define how we work tomorrow. That’s why we’ve launched a monthly blog series that spotlights the latest AI learning assets and upcoming learning opportunities.

Building on my first blog, where I introduced you to our AI live sessions Beyond Hype (which are all about getting productive with SAP Business AI), I wanted to address some of your most asked questions.

  1. How are agents audited and monitored, and is there a mechanism to review and approve or deny actions before execution, or do they operate with full autonomy?
SAP handles the security of AI agentic workflows from the design phase onwards in the following ways: Guidelines and controls applied to the hosting environment, proper authorization checks, keeping humans in loop for critical decisions or actions, and by limiting actions to a predefined list. Only after human approval does the agent execute the transaction, respecting role-based access controls.
  1. Which large language model powers Joule?
SAP maintains partnerships with leading large language model providers and selects the best‑performing model for each specific Joule or agent use case based on rigorous benchmark testing. As a result, the underlying model may vary by scenario to ensure optimal quality, performance, and fit.
  1. Can you give an overview of the lines of businesses that are available in the Joule Early Adopter Care (EAC) Program?
If you followed the announcements at Sapphire 2026, you've probably noticed that Joule is evolving rapidly, offering a new generation of experiences with Joule Work, Joule Desktop, and Joule Studio 2.0. Therefore, SAP will launch Early Adopter Care (EAC) programs that give selected customers early access to upcoming Joule innovations while working directly with SAP product teams. To answer your question: SAP S4/HANA Public and Private Cloud Edition, SAP SuccessFactors, and SAP Ariba will be part of the Joule EAC programs.

  • All Things Business AI: Latest Insights, Updates & Live Demos (recording)

Everything we covered in this blog so far, from agents, human-in-the-loop design, to early adopter programs, is part of a much larger shift in how SAP is building for the future. For the full picture of what's coming, the Innovation News Guide from SAP Sapphire 2026 lays it out clearly:

  • Joule Work redefines how users engage with SAP software. Instead of navigating individual applications and entering data across several screens, users will interact primarily with Joule by describing a desired business outcome and letting Joule orchestrate the right combination of workflows, data, and agents to get it done. Sound familiar? That's the same human-in-the-loop approach we walked through earlier in this blog. See it in action in the Interactive Value Journey.
  • The SAP Business AI Platform is a new foundation for building and deploying enterprise AI grounded in business context. SAP Business AI Platform now unifies SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Business Data Cloud, and SAP Business AI into a single, governed environment. Explore how the agents and applications you build understand your business, not just your prompts, in this Interactive Value Journey.

The shifts we've just explored are moving fast and the best way to keep pace is to learn alongside the people building them. Sign up for the SAP AI Adoption and Learning Week, July 6-9: a week of live, expert-led sessions combining strategic insights with practical guidance. The virtual event is free of charge, no SAP Learning Hub subscription required, just an S-user ID to register for individual sessions.

Stay tuned for more, and happy learning! 🚀
