As part of our Q1 2026 releases, SAP continues to strengthen analytics capabilities across SAP Sales & Service Cloud V2 and SAP Enterprise Service Management. These enhancements reflect a dual focus:

  • Expanding extensibility through partner and customer-driven innovations
  • Improving system stability, resilience, and data reliability

Our releases in the first quarter of 2026 introduce four key innovations designed to deliver tangible business value:

  • Analytics Support for Custom Service Entities (Restricted GA)
  • Where-Used Visibility for Extension Fields
  • Survey Data Source for Response Analytics
  • Automatic Data Resynchronization

Below is a closer look at each enhancement.

Analytics Support for Custom Service Entities (Restricted GA)

Modern enterprises require flexibility to tailor solutions to their unique processes. Both SAP Sales & Service Cloud V2 and SAP Enterprise Service Management support extensibility through Custom Services, enabling customers and partners to extend standard functionality.

With this release, analytics now fully supports these custom service entities within Embedded SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

What’s new?

  • Automatic creation of a “Custom” data source for eligible service entities
  • Seamless availability in the Embedded SAC Query Designer
  • Ability to combine custom and standard data sources for richer insights

Key prerequisites

  • Custom service entity must be marked as Analytics Relevant
  • Required attributes must also be flagged accordingly

For more information on how to setup a custom service for analytics, please refer our online documentation here & here.

Business value

  • Enables reporting on fully customized business processes
  • Eliminates dependency on only standard data models
  • Supports advanced analytics scenarios with combined datasets

This feature is currently available under Restricted General Availability. Customers can request access via an incident on component CEC-CRM-ANA, with broader rollout planned soon.

Where-Used Visibility for Extension Fields

Managing extension fields can be challenging, especially when assessing downstream dependencies.

What’s new?

Admins can now view a Where-Used list for extension fields directly within Extensibility Administration.

Why it matters

  • Identifies whether a field is used in Embedded SAC stories
  • Prevents accidental deletion that could break reports
  • Enables safer system cleanup and optimization

Business value

This seemingly small enhancement significantly reduces risk and improves governance in extensibility management.

Survey Data Source for Response Analytics

Customer feedback is critical—but until now, analysing actual survey responses within analytics tools was limited.

What’s new?

A dedicated “Survey” standard data source is now available.

Previously

  • Only survey metadata and design-level data sources existed
  • No direct way to analyse submitted responses

Now

  • Full access to survey response data
  • Ability to build SAC stories for deeper analysis

Business value

  • Enables insight into customer sentiment and feedback trends
  • Supports data-driven decision-making based on real responses
  • Bridges a long-standing analytics gap highlighted by customers

Automatic Data Resynchronization

SAP’s cloud-native architecture relies on distributed microservices, each optimized for its own purpose. While this ensures scalability and performance, it introduces complexity in analytics.

The challenge

  • Analytics data is replicated into SAP HANA via event-driven mechanisms
  • With high event volumes, rare inconsistencies can occur between:
    • Source microservices
    • Analytics data store (HANA)

What’s new?

A new intelligent background job automatically:

  • Detects inconsistencies between primary and analytics data stores
  • Corrects mismatches proactively
  • Schedules execution to minimize system impact

Business value

  • Ensures data accuracy and consistency in Embedded SAC
  • Builds trust in analytics outputs
  • Maintains system performance while improving reliability

Closing Thoughts

This quarter’s innovations emphasize two critical pillars: extensibility and data reliability.

By enabling analytics on custom entities, improving governance, unlocking survey insights, and ensuring data consistency, SAP continues to enhance the value of Embedded SAC within its cloud solutions.

These capabilities empower organizations to:

  • Gain deeper, more relevant insights
  • Operate with confidence in their data
  • Extend analytics to match evolving business needs

We look forward to seeing how customers leverage these enhancements to drive smarter, data-informed decisions in 2026 and beyond.
