This is currently under Feature Flag. Kindly create a SAP Support Ticket for requesting the access for Data Explorer.
This feature is not available in Oracle and legacy HANA stack.

Data Explorer is a self-service SQL editor built directly into the application. It allows administrators to:

  • Run SELECT queries against TCMP and EXT schemas.
  • View results in an interactive data table.
  • Verify data loads quickly and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot issues without relying on external database clients.
  • Perform on-demand analysis to support business decisions.

This means administrators can securely query incentive-related table data directly inside the platform, reducing dependency on IT teams or third-party tools or asking SAP Technical Support teams via tickets .

How It Works

  1. Secure Access – No VPN or external SQL client required.
  2. Built-in SQL Editor – Write and execute queries in a familiar interface.
  3. Interactive Results – Data tables allow filtering, sorting, and validation.
  4. Schema Support – Direct access to TCMP (transactional compensation data) and EXT (extended data sources).
  5. SELECT Statement – Only SELECT Statements are only allowed with Query Limits (Refer Help Documentation)

Why It’s Useful for Incentive Management

Incentive programs often involve complex calculations, multiple data sources, and frequent adjustments. Data Explorer helps streamline these processes:

  • Data Validation Quickly confirm whether incentive data loads (e.g., sales transactions, quotas, payouts) are accurate.
  • Troubleshooting Identify missing or inconsistent records that could delay compensation cycles.
  • Transparency Provide clear audit trails by querying incentive-related data directly.
  • Agility Run ad-hoc analysis to test new incentive structures or simulate payout scenarios.
  • Reduced IT Dependency Empower administrators to answer business questions without waiting for IT support.

Example Use Cases – Useful querying via Data Explorer

  • Verify Sales Transactions: Ensure all eligible deals are captured before payout.
  • Verify Plugin Query Functions : Ensure all the plugins are saved properly and calculates accurate
  • Check Quota Assignments: Confirm that quotas are loaded correctly for each rep.
  • Analyze Payout Trends: Run queries to identify anomalies in incentive distribution.
  • Audit Adjustments: Track manual overrides or corrections applied to incentive data.
