What is the SAP Cloud ERP Launchpad Extension?
A quick recap for new readers: this extension (available for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox) lets you save your favourite SAP Fiori apps and Cloud ERP system URLs directly in the browser toolbar. 🌙 Dark Mode
The most visually impactful change: the extension now supports a full dark mode, consistent across both the popup and the options page.
To switch it on, open the Options page (click the extension icon → settings, or right-click → “Extension options”) and toggle the Dark Mode switch in the footer bar.
The dark theme applies to:
– The extension popup (tree view, buttons, footer bar, search field)
– The full Options page (tables, dialogs, tab headers, the shell bar)
Your preference is saved automatically and persists across browser restarts.
🔑 Auto-Login with Saved Credentials
You can now save a username and password for each of your Cloud ERP systems. When you navigate to a saved system's SAP Fiori Launchpad for the first time, the extension automatically fills in the login form for you — no typing needed.
How to save credentials
- Open the Options page
- Go to the Cloud ERP Systems tab
- Click Create to add a new system, or select an existing one and click Edit
- Fill in the optional Username and Password fields
- Click Save
The password is stored securely in your browser's sync storage and is shown as “Saved” in the table — the actual value is never displayed again for security.
How auto-login works
Once credentials are saved, the extension's background service will detect when you open a matching SAP system URL and automatically inject your username and password into the login form. This works seamlessly in the background — you just arrive at the Fiori Launchpad already logged in.
> Note: Credentials are stored only locally in your browser and are never transmitted anywhere. When you export your Cloud ERP Systems list, the download file contains only the name and host URL — credentials are intentionally excluded to protect your privacy.
🏢Adding Cloud ERP Systems with Login Credentials Directly from the Popup
The popup now includes Username and Password fields when adding a Cloud ERP System through the Add → Cloud ERP System menu.
🔒 Privacy-Safe Export
When you download your Cloud ERP Systems list (Download button in the footer of the Options page, while on the Cloud ERP Systems tab), the exported JSON file now contains only the name and host URL for each system.
Usernames and passwords are never included in exports. This means you can safely shareyour system list with colleagues without worrying about credential exposure.
🦊 Firefox: Fixes and Improvements
Several improvements have been made specifically for Firefox users:
– Tree duplication fixed: A Firefox-specific bug caused the Fiori Apps tree in the popup to render items twice. This was caused by Firefox firing browser storage callbacks more than once under certain conditions. The issue has been fully resolved.
– Upload fixed: The file upload (importing JSON) now works correctly in Firefox.
– Translations: All new field labels (Username column, Password column, “Saved” status) are now fully translated across all 18 supported languages in the Firefox version.
