AI innovations are expected to increase productivity in companies by up to 30 percent; Partnerships with Perplexity and Palantir help customers realize their full potential
ORLANDO, May 20, 2025 – SAP announced innovations and partnerships that transform workflows and ensure every user can benefit from enterprise AI at its annual SAP Sapphire customer conference.
With innovations like the AI assistant Joule, now available virtually everywhere, and an expanded network of Joule agents working across systems and business units, SAP is ushering in a new era that enables AI for every company and productivity increases of up to 30 percent.

Productivity boost through AI
Joule, the SAP assistant with generative AI, can be used in all processes and delivers personalized answers that enable increased productivity.
Joule is now fully integrated and can accompany users throughout their daily work inside and outside of SAP applications to find data, unlock new insights in real time and optimize workflows. This also includes an action bar that uses WalkMe and analyzes user behavior across applications. Joule thus becomes a constantly available, proactive AI assistant that recognizes user requirements in advance – and always meets them strict SAP guidelines for ethical AI fulfilled.
A collaboration with Perplexity – a company that provides an AI-powered search engine – enhances Joule's ability to use structured and unstructured data to solve complex business problems. Powered by Perplexity and SAP's Knowledge Graph, Joule now answers questions instantly with structured, visual answers such as charts and metrics based on real-time data in SAP workflows. For example, a user might ask the tool how global policy decisions might impact business operations. He would then receive a forecast based on both current events and the company's business data.
SAP also introduced an expanded collection of Joule agents that redesign business processes and workflows from the ground up. These AI agents use the world's highest quality real-time data and are linked together by Joules. They work across systems and business areas to recognize changing requirements, adapt and act as independently as users allow, so that companies can remain flexible in a rapidly changing world. Working with industry leaders, SAP offers a network of interoperable agents that can handle end-to-end processes. The new agents include customer experience, supply chain management, expense management, finance and human resources management.
Finally, SAP has unveiled an operating system for AI development that opens up new opportunities for companies to develop, implement and scale AI solutions. AI Foundation brings together new and existing tools, providing developers with a single point of entry to build, extend and run custom AI solutions at scale. This makes it the first true operating system for enterprise AI. A new Prompt Optimizer, developed with AI startup Not Diamond, also helps developers create more effective AI prompts faster, reducing work on complex use cases from days to minutes.
Data that ensures smarter decisions
SAP also introduced new intelligent applications for SAP Business Data Cloud, each tailored to a specific business area. These applications are able to continuously learn, simulate results, and provide guidance on actions based on business-critical data. They identify changes to optimize processes, anticipate requirements, and collaborate with users and AI systems. For example, the People Intelligence application can be used to optimize team performance by deriving insights about the workforce from employee and qualification data and deriving AI-supported recommendations.
Additionally, Palantir and SAP are partnering to support mutual customers in their cloud transition and modernization programs. The seamless connection between Palantir and SAP Business Data Cloud allows customers to build a harmonized database across their entire business landscape. Together, the companies will responsibly help customers, such as U.S. government agencies, quickly adapt to change and disruption.
Applications that ensure faster use of cloud solutions
The company also announced SAP Business Suite packages designed to make it easier for customers to adopt SAP cloud solutions for their specific business needs. SAP Build is integrated into these packages, allowing companies to customize applications to meet their individual needs.
Finally, SAP introduced a new solution to help customers move to the cloud faster. It uses Joule as an entry point and insights from SAP solutions such as SAP Signavio and SAP LeanIX and offers personalized assistance and concrete recommendations that are tailored to a company's transformation goals and enable up to 35 percent faster time to value.
