If you've been part of an Employee Central implementation, you already know the pattern: the module configuration goes smoothly, the business process design workshops wrap up on schedule, and then — data migration quietly becomes the workstream that determines whether go-live is smooth or painful.

Moving employee data from SAP S/4HANA (or SAP ERP/ECC) into SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) isn't just a technical export/import exercise. You're moving data from an on-premise HCM model — Personnel Administration and Organizational Management — into a cloud-based, MDF (Metadata Framework) driven data model. The structures don't map 1:1, and treating this as “just another data load” is where most timelines start slipping.
