Adopting SAP's Business AI Platform (BAIP) does not mean starting over on your DevOps practice. It means extending it — sometimes significantly. The conversations I have every day with customers going through BAIP onboarding repeatedly converge on the same realization: the teams that struggle the most are the ones who treat AI as a software deployment problem. The teams that thrive are the ones who understand that AI workloads introduce fundamentally different operational concerns.
This blog summarizes the key points I cover in my onboarding sessions. Whether you are a developer, a platform engineer, a solution architect, or a technical project manager, there is something here for you.
