Electronic Invoicing in Germany with SAP Business ByDesign
SAP Business ByDesign supports compliance with the European E-Invoicing standard EN 16931 for outgoing customer invoices.
In accordance with Germany's regulatory requirements, e-invoicing will become mandatory for all businesses conducting B2B transactions effective January 1, 2027.
To comply with E-Invoicing, SAP Business ByDesign supports extensive output management and enables customers to generate XML output through custom XSLT transformations using the Transformation Repository framework.
This transformation feature supports Customer Invoices, Credit Memos and Down Payment Invoices.
The following blog describes how to configure the transformation settings to enable the system to send an E-Invoice.

Attached is the sample XSLT template which would generate XRechnung UBL 3.0.1 compliant XML.
IMPORTANT: You must change the file type to .xslt before you can use it.
Apart from XSLT transformation feature, SAP Business ByDesign offer another option to customers to exchange their electronic invoices and credit memos through the Peppol E-Delivery network.
SAP Business ByDesign can exchange electronic invoices and credit memos through the Peppol network using Universal Business Language (UBL) documents that comply with the XRechnung format (XRechnung UBL Invoice V3.0 and XRechnung UBL CreditNote V3.0). This capability is provided by SAP Document and Reporting Compliance.
