Introduction

After my first hands-on experiment with n8n and SAP Digital Manufacturing, where I retrieved manufacturing alerts and used an AI Agent to summarize and prioritize them, I decided to take the next step.

This time, I wanted to explore a manufacturing quality scenario: how can we use AI to analyze open nonconformances, provide actionable recommendations to production supervisors, and automatically raise alerts for critical issues directly in SAP Digital Manufacturing?

The idea is simple. Manufacturing systems already capture valuable information about production issues, but identifying the right priorities and deciding what to do next can require time and manual effort.

By combining SAP Digital Manufacturing, n8n, and a Large Language Model (LLM), we can build a workflow that transforms nonconformance data into actionable insights and connects critical findings back to the manufacturing system.
