When I think about this year’s SAP Sapphire, I look forward to the future of the supply chain management. The innovations we present will bring a fundamental change in the way in which companies can design their processes in an increasingly complex global environment. In my conviction, the positive energy of our customers and partners encourages me that we are on the right track with our AI First and Suite First strategy.

Newly presented innovations and partnerships revolutionize the way of working

Standardization of the supply chain network

The latest offers of the SAP are based on fundamental extensions of the solutions SAP Supply Chain Management and SAP Cloud ERP. These improvements create a more uniform, intelligent supply chain network with which the diverse challenges can be mastered that companies are over these days.

Important innovations to support consistent business processes in the SAP Business Suite. With SAP Integrated Product Development Complex product data such as parts lists, recipes or material price estimates can be easily transmitted. The solution ensures a smooth transition from product development to production. In addition, the integration of service orders in SAP Digital Manufacturing A better control of the manufacturing processes in relation to the service and repair execution. In the case of high -adaptive processes, changes to production orders are seamlessly synchronized with the execution in the production area.

The SAP Business Suite introduced in February is a comprehensive package of integrated solutions based on SAP Business Technology platform Cloud ERP applications, SAP Business Data Cloud and SAP Business Ai combined. SAP Cloud Suite packages presented on the Sapphire, which are tailored to certain business area requirements. The business suite package for SAP Supply Chain Management is a comprehensive, AI-supported and network-based solution that helps customers integrate data, operational processes and supply chain functions. It ensures more flexibility, transparency and faster responsiveness. At the same time, it supports sustainability initiatives and indicators.

The presented function SMART GUIDED Execution in SAP Digital Manufacturing supports compliant production in the areas of biosciences, chemistry and regulated quick -making consumer goods through intelligent process control and a new electronic batch protocol system. This ensures traceability and compliance with regulations. At the same time, errors are reduced and the overall production quality is improved.

Customers in plant-intensive industries such as energy and water supply, natural resources or travel and transport benefit from expanded functions to monitor the system state in SAP Asset Performance Management. Through the SAP partnership with Cumulocity the prerequisites for better management of time series and the integration of IoT devices (Internet-of-Things) are created. In this way, companies can use real -time data for forward -looking maintenance and plant optimization and thus reduce downtimes and maintenance costs.

Due to the introduction of networked supply chain processes that combine various SAP applications and cloud IRP, SAP offers an improved data flow, AI-based knowledge and continuous process optimization across the entire supply chain and the core business functions. This integration is not just about linking information with each other, but ensuring a seamless flow of information and actions, which enables you to redesign business processes.

How Joule and Agentic Ai change supply chain management

Numerous innovations underpin the SAP’s commitment to AI-supported solutions. With Joulesthe AI assistant of SAP, companies are well equipped to redesign logistics processes. By the end of the year, Joule will offer a new function in combination with SAP Integrated Business Planning. This function will enable dispatchers, such as needs or procurement planners, to interpret the results of the procurement planning quickly and easily. This is done through intelligent analyzes of the needs, inventory and procurement planning. With this function, decision -making processes in supply chain planning are considerably simplified.

The integration of Agentic AI into the entire SAP Business Suite is a big step towards independent supply chain processes.

The announced AI agents include:

  • Maintenance Planner Agent: Optimizes the maintenance planning and the coordination of maintenance measures.
  • Shopfloor Supervisor Agent: Proactive controls disorders in the production area, for example in the case of machine failures. And carries out the necessary rescheduling so that it can be continued productively.
  • Field Service Dispatcher Agent: Is able to plan and optimize service orders in SAP Field Service Management independently.

These AI agents will be generally available from the fourth quarter of 2025. The promise: With them, planning will become a proactive, continuous process. The agents monitor various data sources, cover relationships and suggest measures.

SAP Business Network: Extended functions for orchestration and sustainability management of the supply chain

The SAP announced that too SAP Business Networkthe largest B2B trade network worldwide has been significantly improved. On the platform, where trading partners from 190 countries present themselves, transactions worth over $ 6.3 trillion are processed annually. The new functions are designed in such a way that they change the orchestration of the supply chain from scratch. They ensure transparency for unprecedented transparency, increase efficiency and ensure that all processes within the supply chain correspond to the applicable regulations.

The innovations include the better compliance with regulations and better quality controls in the mass upload of certificate documents for suppliers and for buyer-controlled document specifications for certain certifications.

New functions for cooperation in logistics aim to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the supply chain. By integrating current transport data, greenhouse gas emissions can be better tracked. And the sea freight traffic is supported by extended functions for the implementation of tenders and the clarification of disputes.

Another important improvement focuses on extended system management with cloud-based ERP integration for better synchronization control, bidirectional integration of materials and models as well as automated equipment creation through AAS file uploads and integration of quality inspection checklists.

All new functions are to be introduced by the end of 2025. These enable companies of various industries to achieve several goals: they can easily monitor important certifications, improve compliance with regulations, reduce delays and ensure that rules and sustainability goals are met in the entire supply chain.

By integrating current transport emission data, companies receive a more precise analysis of their CO2-Fußprprints, enables them to better reconcile their operational efficiency with responsibility for the environment.

The way to the future

While these new functions are rolled out in the course of 2025, I am more than ever convinced of the commitment of the SAP, because it continuously works on innovations to offer its customers added value. In a world full of uncertainties and risks, companies must be adaptable and productive at the same time. Here the application Supply Chain Management, which is part of the SAP Business Suite, convinces. It uses intelligent functions and all relevant internal and external data. With these insights, companies can make the right decisions and make adjustments to be successful and grow.

Our vision is clear: supply chains should become proactive, intelligent networks. They are intended to anticipate disorders, optimize processes and promote business growth.
