Walldorf, Germany and San Francisco, USA -August 1, 2025-SAP (NYSE: SAP) and SMARTRECRUTERS have announced today that SAP signed an agreement to assume SmartRecruiters, a leading provider of software for the extraction of top employees (Talentaplusquise, TA).
SmartRecruiters expertise and applications for automated processes in recruitment and intuitive, AI-supported user interfaces are the ideal addition to the SAP Suite for HR processes (SAP SUCCESSFACTORS HCM Suite). The planned takeover is intended to strengthen SAPs extensive HCM suite and equip customers with the necessary tools in order to gain and maintain top employees in an increasingly competitive environment.
SmartRecruiters Powerful, user-friendly surfaces and simple workflows should complement SAPs robust HR suite: You improve decision-making when setting employees: inside, shorten the time to hiring and offer candidate: inside a convincing software experience. Embedded analyzes and AI-based recommendations of SAP and SMARTRECRUITER provide valuable insights into talent pools, avoid bottlenecks in the settings process and improve personnel planning.

With the planned takeover, we will help our customers to win the best employees and to implement their strategies for talenta sequise quickly, agile and efficiently-at the same time, with lower overall costs for the operation of the software,” said Muhammad Alam, member of the SAP board. “Customers will be able to edit the entire life cycle of candidate: inside – from speech and interview to onboarding and beyond – in a single system, and thus the process for recruiters: inside, managers and especially for candidate: to simplify inside.”
Customers should receive extended, AI-based functions for the recruiting and setting process that make applicant tracking and the selection of candidates more efficient. Data-based settings and recruiting analyzes should flow directly into the existing HCM tools from SAP and thereby form an integrated system with harmonized data for rules that are compliant and smoothly. In addition, the SMARTRECRUITERS portfolio should remain available as an independent solution for the foreseeable future.
The software-as-a-service solutions and platform from SMARTRECRUITERS enable more than 4,000 organizations worldwide to efficiently control their attitude processes from start to finish-and to offer a convincing experience for recruiters: inside, managers and candidate: inside.

The transaction is expected for the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to usual enforcement conditions, including official permits. The commercial details of the transaction were not announced. JP Morgan acted as an exclusive financial advisor for Smartrecruiters.
