SAP Newsbyte – September 3, 2025 – SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) announces that the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team will in future rely on SAP intelligent corporate solutions in order to optimize operational processes, drive innovations and meet regulatory requirements. The focus is on preparing for the new FIA finance requirements for 2026.
With the raising of the cost limit to $ 215 million from 2026-to take into account new technical regulations and previously excluded cost types-Formula 1 teams are faced with the challenge of managing complex controlling processes within strict financial framework. Together with SAP, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team faces the new requirements.
With the introduction of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition as a digital core, the team has access to real-time financial data, predictive analyzes and optimized processes. These functions are crucial in order to meet powerful financial control. In addition, SAP Business AI is used to plan budgets precisely, optimize supply chains and to manage inventory efficiently – central skills within the framework of the new cost requirements.
A particularly relevant application is inventory management: over 14,500 individual parts per racing car are tracked and evaluated in real time using SAP Cloud ERP private edition. This significantly reduces the manual effort in reporting to the FIA and ensures a precise real -time assessment of the components. Cloud-based architecture also ensures maximum reliability-a decisive factor on race weekends if smooth IT processes are decisive for success.

The FIA’s new regulations require a higher level of financial discipline. SAP supports the team in several areas:
- Training and assignment of costs in F&E, manufacturing and racing company
- Automation of compliance reporting through integrated test paths
- Modeling financial scenarios to support strategic decisions
In addition, the SAP Business AI team uses to improve sustainability monitoring and operational decision-making-central aspects in the context of new FIA financial requirements. Intelligent data models help the CO2 -Fußprint to reduce and increase efficiency. Forecast functions support the optimization of inventory and supply chains. At the same time, the SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP Build are used to develop tailor -made applications, digitize work processes and promote cross -area cooperation.
