At SAP Sapphire Orlando, we introduced SAP Field Service and Asset Management (FSA) – the next major evolution of SAP Field Service Management.

After a decade working in the asset and service space at SAP, this launch feels like one of the most important steps forward how asset and service work gets done. 

SAP Field Service and Asset Management builds on the proven SAP Field Service Management foundation and extends it with enhanced asset management capabilities, deeper SAP Cloud ERP integration, mobile-first execution, and AI-driven automation.

It is not a separate product. It is a strategic evolution of SAP Field Service Management – bringing asset operations, field service execution, and enterprise context together in one connected execution layer.

In the demo, AI agents act as intelligent copilots for service and maintenance execution. Instead of starting from a blank screen, the user is guided to what needs attention, why it matters, and what action can be taken next.

Service and maintenance demand can be evaluated against available workforce capacity, risk, asset criticality, and job criticality. From there, a dispatcher agent can recommend an optimized schedule and dispatch plan through Joule before the work is executed by a technician through a modern mobile experience.

What matters is that the process stays connected.  Asset context, parts availability, business priorities, and execution updates are not sitting in separate places. They are part of one flow – helping planning, supply chain, finance, and field execution stay synchronized.


From recommendation to execution

The real value of AI in service and maintenance is not only the recommendation, but what happens next. It also gives customers a practical starting point for AI in the flow of work. Not as a future concept, but as a way to help users identify issues earlier, evaluate options faster, act with intelligence, and move to increasingly autonomous operations.
