SAP Asset Performance Management 2610 brings a significantly improved Monitor Alerts experience alongside a focused set of enhancements to industrial systems, configuration, and platform transparency. The rebuilt Monitor Alerts application introduces clear ownership, full change traceability, and direct integration with SAP S/4HANA – all in one place. This release also deepens the context available when working with technical objects and industrial systems, adds location-based filtering for administrators, and delivers a new troubleshooting guide to help teams resolve issues faster. There is also an important announcement about the transition away from legacy GraphQL-based applications.

Asset Health Monitoring
A New App for Monitoring Alerts in SAP Asset Performance Management
In 2610, SAP Asset Performance Management introduces a significantly improved Monitor Alerts experience – rebuilt on the SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) framework. The new application brings clear ownership, full change traceability, direct integration with SAP S/4HANA, and better context for investigation, all without leaving a single application.
We have written a dedicated blog post that walks through the full story – from the moment an alert lands in the queue to the maintenance notification raised in S/4HANA. Read it here – Introducing new ‘Monitor Alerts' application in SAP Asset Performance Management.
Business Value
This gives customers:
- Full alert investigation workflow in one place – no switching between applications or systems
- Clear ownership with a new Assigned To field – nothing sits unattended in a shared queue
- Complete audit trail of every alert change, automatically captured in a Change Log tab
- Maintenance notifications created directly from the alert, with a Detection Method field to support future failure analysis
- A foundation built for extensibility – workflows and fields can be adapted to your operation via CAP
Asset Data and Information Management
Location Details Available in Technical Objects
What if you could see the exact physical location of a technical object – and filter by it – without leaving the Explore Technical Objects application?
With this release, Room, Location, and Plant Section are now displayed directly in the Information tab of the Technical Object details page, and Location and Plant Section are available as filters in Explore Technical Objects. These fields are also exposed in the public API.
Challenge
Maintenance and reliability teams often need to locate an asset physically – not just by its ID or description. Previously, location attributes such as Room, Location, and Plant Section were not visible in SAP APM or available for filtering. Teams had to consult the source system or rely on tribal knowledge to determine where an asset was physically situated.
Solution
Room, Location, and Plant Section now appear in the Information tab of any Technical Object details page. Location and Plant Section can also be used as filters when browsing or searching technical objects. The same fields are exposed via the public API, making them available for integrations and downstream processes.
Note: This enhancement applies only to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition 2021 FPS01 or higher.
Explore Technical Objects filter bar and results table with new Location, Plant Section, and Room fields highlighted
Key Details
- Room, Location, and Plant Section displayed in the Technical Object Information tab
- Location and Plant Section available as filters in Explore Technical Objects
- Fields exposed via the public API
- Applicable to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition 2021 FPS01 or higher
Business Value
This gives customers:
- Physical location context directly in SAP APM – no need to cross-reference the source system
- Faster narrowing of technical objects by location when investigating issues or planning maintenance
- Location data accessible via API for reporting and integration scenarios

Industrial Systems: Better Visibility, Clearer Modelling
What if working with industrial systems felt less like switching between applications and more like having the full picture in one place?
This release brings three connected improvements to industrial systems in SAP APM. Together they make it easier to find the right system, understand how a technical object fits within it, and accurately represent planned installations in the system model.
See System Context Directly on a Technical Object
A new Industrial Systems tab is now available on every Technical Object details page in Explore Technical Objects. It lists all industrial systems the object belongs to – no need to navigate to the Manage Industrial Systems application to get that context. Whether you're investigating a failure or reviewing an asset's role in a larger system, the information is now right there where you're already working.
Released Systems Shown by Default
When selecting an industrial system from the Select Industrial Systems dialog in Explore Technical Objects, the Status filter now defaults to Released. This means the list opens showing only the systems that are ready for downstream operations – the ones you're most likely to need. You can still clear or change the filter if you need to see systems in other statuses.
Status filter is set to “Released” by default in the “Select Industrial System” dialog
Model Planned Installations as Product Occurrences
System elements in a Product Aspect hierarchy can now be marked as Product Occurrences. This designation explicitly flags a position in the hierarchy as a structural placeholder for a physical item – such as equipment or a functional location – that is planned to be installed there. In asset-intensive industries where system design precedes physical build, this gives teams a formal way to represent planned installations and keep the system model aligned with design intent.
“Manage Industrial Systems” showing a system element in the Product Aspect hierarchy with the Product Occurrence checkbox, which when marked designates a placeholder position for a planned physical item installation
Key Details
- New Industrial Systems tab on Technical Object details pages shows all systems the object belongs to
- Status filter in the Select Industrial Systems dialog now defaults to Released
- System elements in Product Aspect hierarchies can be marked as Product Occurrences to represent planned installations
Business Value
These three improvements give customers:
- Industrial system context visible directly on technical object pages – no application switching required
- Faster selection of the right industrial system with released systems shown by default
- A formal way to model planned installation positions in industrial system hierarchies, keeping design intent and installed asset data aligned

Administration and Configuration
Plant Section and Location Filters in Configuration Manager
What if administrators could scope technical object replication by physical location – directly from Configuration Manager?
Plant Section and Location are now available as replication filters in the Configuration Manager, giving administrators finer control over which technical objects are replicated into SAP APM.
Challenge
Administrators managing large asset landscapes often need to control exactly which technical objects are replicated into SAP APM. Without location-based filter options, achieving this level of precision required workarounds or broader replication scopes than needed.
Solution
“Plant Section” and “Location” filters are now available directly in the Configuration Manager under Communication Systems. Administrators can use these filters to narrow the scope of technical object replication to specific physical areas within a plant, reducing the volume of irrelevant data and improving replication efficiency.

Key Details
- Plant Section and Location available as replication filters in Configuration Manager
- Applies to technical object replication configuration under Communication Systems
- Allows administrators to narrow replication scope to specific physical locations
Business Value
This gives customers:
- Precise, location-based control over technical object replication – no workarounds needed
- Reduced replication of irrelevant objects, supporting cleaner data and better system performance
- Administration aligned to the physical structure of the plant

General
Troubleshooting Guide for SAP Asset Performance Management
A new troubleshooting guide is now available for SAP Asset Performance Management. Organized by feature area, it covers common issues related to application access, configuration, data integration, assessments, rule execution, and more. Each topic describes the issue, its possible causes, and recommended resolution steps.
This is a practical addition for customers and partners who want structured guidance when something isn't working as expected – without needing to raise a support ticket for every issue.
For more information, see Troubleshooting in SAP Asset Performance Management.
Important Announcement – Migration Required Before 2611
As part of the ongoing transition to Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) based applications, support for several legacy GraphQL-based application versions has been extended to the 2611 release (November 16, 2026). After that date, these versions will be removed from the Fiori Launchpad.
The affected applications are:
- Manage Recommendations
- Implement Recommendations
- Manage Risk and Criticality Assessments
- Manage Templates for Risk and Criticality Assessments
- Manage Strategy Assessment for Classes
- Manage RCM Assessments
- Manage FMEA Assessments
If your organization is still using any of these legacy versions, you must migrate to the CAP-based versions before November 16, 2026 to ensure uninterrupted service.
For release timeline details, see Release Schedule and Dates for 2026.
