We know our SAP Commerce types. But do we have an explicit semantic model of what they mean and how they relate?

Product, Customer, Cart, Order, Promotion and Payment are familiar concepts in every Commerce implementation. But how do we represent these concepts in a machine-readable model that applications and AI agents can understand and traverse?

In this second article, we move from concept to implementation.

We'll explore RDF, OWL and Turtle, define a focused SAP Commerce domain ontology, and model the relationships between customers, carts, orders, products and promotions.

We'll also look at why an ontology is different from instance data, and how SHACL can help validate the resulting graph.

The goal is simple: build a semantic foundation before attempting to build intelligence on top of it.

Let's turn familiar Commerce types into a connected semantic model.
