Setting the Scene
In April 2026, SAP shared its commitment to a new Reference Capability Model — a single, authoritative Reference Capability Model designed to bring a unified taxonomy across SAP's tools and customer touchpoints.
If you missed it, you could check the previous blog “Introducing Expanded Usage of the Reference Capability Model”:

This blog post marks a milestone in that journey.
What it Means for You
If you use SAP Signavio Process Navigator, the most visible change is this: SAP Best Practices for SAP S/4HANA Cloud is now grouped and organized using the new Reference Capability Model from SAP. Note that other Solution Scenarios will follow in the future.
In the past, SAP Best Practices were grouped by Lines of Business (LoB), with a separate grouping for industry-specific content. Now, they are structured by Business Domains, a hierarchy that reflects how enterprises think about their business capabilities.
A filter on “Industry Relevance” enables you to narrow the SAP Best Practices to the industries that you are interested in.
What Changed in Process Navigator
SAP Signavio Process Navigator, SAP's library of predefined best practices, now uses the new Reference Capability Model as the only capability structure, establishing a single authoritative taxonomy aligned with SAP's standards.
Previously, SAP Signavio Process Navigator exposed two capability models side by side for a transition period. That period is now over. There is now one authoritative model — the Reference Capability Model that SAP uses internally and surfaces across its tools. One model, one structure. No more ambiguity about which capability hierarchy is the reference point.
Moreover, opening a Solution Capability displays a detail page which directly surfaces the linked SAP Best Practices.
