WALLDORF – September 2, 2025 – SAP SE today introduces a comprehensive new approach to digital sovereignty and AI innovation in Europe. With the expanded offerings of the SAP Sovereign Cloud portfolio, European customers will have access to a comprehensive technology stack that includes both SAP Cloud Infrastructure and SAP Sovereign Cloud On-Site. SAP's recent announcement sets a new benchmark for secure, compliant and scalable innovation and underlines the importance of digital sovereignty as a central element for technological resilience and Europe's strategic autonomy.

Deployment options for different security profiles
With the expansion of SAP Sovereign Cloud, customers can choose between different deployment models that provide control over infrastructure, platform and software and can be tailored to specific regulatory and operational requirements. These options allow companies to comply with applicable local laws and scale their systems to their own specifications. SAP Sovereign Cloud solutions are available on:
- SAP Cloud Infrastructure: SAP's IaaS platform is based on open source technologies, runs in the SAP data center network and stores all data exclusively in the EU in accordance with data protection regulations.
- SAP Sovereign Cloud On Site: SAP provides an SAP-operated infrastructure located in a customer-selected or customer-owned data center. This solution meets the highest requirements for data, operational, technical and legal sovereignty while ensuring SAP's ability to innovate and architecture.
- Delos Cloud: With the Delos Cloud in Germany, SAP offers a secure and sovereign cloud that supports the flexible and rapid transformation of the public sector to meet country-specific sovereignty requirements.

Through a long-term investment of over 20 billion euros, SAP is setting a clear strategic focus on digital sovereignty. This commitment underscores SAP's goal to promote Europe's digital independence through secure, locally operated and regulatory compliant cloud solutions designed specifically for the public sector and highly regulated industries.
